Daniel groans as he reaches over to turn his alarm off. He stares at the ceiling in silence and sighs as he throws the blankets off of him. It was a slow and nonexistent effort, but eventually the blanket fell off of him and he stood up from his bed, barely refusing to open his eyes.
As he walks to the bathroom, he attempts to fix his messy hair, knowing he can't do the trick without even a little bit of product to lay it down properly. He dropped his hands by his side with a sigh, taking a moment to stare at himself in the bathroom mirror.
He takes his time getting ready. Slowly brushing his teeth, fixing his hair, then tiredly walking back to his room, trying to find all the pieces of his Truham uniform. Daniel changes into it, tugging at the shirt annoyingly, having always hated the way it fit him.
His gaze finally left the mirror with a bit of force and effort, grabbing his socks and black converse, sitting on the edge of the bed. Of course the laces were against him right now, refusing to go through and properly find their way.
As he laced them all the way up, then tied them, he thought about how much he hated school and was dreading yet another day. It was the first day of year eleven, so he should be excited, but in reality he's hated school for a long time now. Longer than he can even remember.
He grabs his bag that he packed the night before, that was lazily hanging off his desk chair. One last look in the mirror ruins his mood even more, not happy with the outcome of the sight of his own reflection. Just as he was about to leave his room, his twin sister Tori walks in.
"Are you ready to go, Danny?" She says in the same monotone voice as always while standing in the doorway with her backpack and a drink in her hand.
He breaths out a sigh, "Yeah, I was just about to come check on you guys. Is Charlie ready?" Daniel responds, walking out of the door, closing it behind them.
"Yeah he's ready, he's just getting breakfast real quick." Tori responds as they walk to the kitchen together.
"Perfect." Daniel responds with a mocking tone before turning the corner.
Daniel sneaks up to his little brother and ruffles his hair causing a groan and laugh from him, but he lets it slide as always. Charlie rinses out his bowl with a scoff, shrugging his brother away, then grabbing his bag from the floor.
"Okay, does everyone have everything? Breakfast, bag, ties?" Daniel asks, tugging at Charlie's uniform tie, as he always takes the older brother role very seriously.
Both of the siblings nodded as they headed out the door together. Daniel plugs his headphones in and leans his head on the window as they ride the bus. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, getting interrupted by the buzz of his phone. A text from Ben, his 'boyfriend' was seen on the screen, reading "Can't wait to see you x." Daniel smiles slightly as a flutter rises in his chest as he continues to wait for the ride to be over.
They all load off the bus and Charlie and Daniel tell Tori goodbye as she parts ways, walking towards Higgs instead of Truham. Daniel gives Charlie a quick hug and wishes him luck before heading in a different direction. Daniel walks as fast as he could to the library where he and Ben agreed to meet.
As he opens the door to the library he looks around but doesn't see anyone "Ben?" He asks, confused.
He feels his phone buzz 'Actually can we meet up at break instead?' Daniel opens it and types a quick 'Okay♥️' before walking back out to the hall filled with students. Daniel hears the principal over the intercom as he looks down at his post-it note that says his now form room.
