"I think I have feelings for Eddie." Buck walks up to Hen with a panicked look on his face, but his voice is oddly calm. "Hen, please say something." He's already regretting letting the words come out of his mouth. Why would he tell Hen? She has to spend the whole day working with both of them and now she knows he has feelings for Eddie. He should have called Maddie... God why does he have to have feelings for Eddie?

"Sorry, I'm trying to think of something better than 'no shit Sherlock' because I feel like that might be insensitive."

She's kidding. She has to be kidding, right? It's really not funny to Buck. He's been freaking out about it for like a week. Feelings for Eddie..."What do you mean 'no shit Sherlock?' Did you know? How could you know?" He tries to hide his panic, but there's just no way. The words came out of his mouth and now he's losing his mind. He said it out loud, and he can't take it back

"I... what kind of feelings are we talking about here, Buck?"

Is she really going to make him say it out loud? Heart racing, tripping over his words, can't stop staring, head over heels in- "I don't know, like... romantic ones? Like strong ones." Downplay it. That's what he tells himself. He's being honest, but he doesn't have to be completely honest, right?

"Okay, that's what I thought. I had to make sure though before I said something you weren't ready to hear."

Was he really that oblivious to his own feelings that someone else might have had to tell him if he didn't realize them himself? "Was it obvious?"

"I mean it's been really obvious the past week that you realized it. You can't stop staring at him."

And why would he want to? Come on, even before he realized his feelings, he would still have said Eddie is one of the most attractive men he's ever met. Perfect amount of muscle. Tall, but not taller than him. Buck likes that. And those brown eyes... damn those eyes. In certain light, Buck would swear he was hiding gold in them. Just small flecks, but still pure gold. "Do you think it's obvious to him?" The most important thing to Buck. Of course he doesn't have the guts to just tell Eddie how he feels, but he doesn't want Eddie to just... find out.

"Buck, I think he's the only person more oblivious than you are."

"What do I do?"

"I don't know, maybe try to tell him?" She says sarcastically. It's the obvious answer. It still makes Buck a little angry though. There has to be another solution, and now that Hen is the only other person to know about his feelings, she is going to have to be the one to help him find that solution.

"I can't just tell him. I'm not good with words or feelings." He knows he especially won't be with Eddie. How the hell is he supposed to tell his best friend that he's in love with him? No. No... not in love, just feelings. That's all it is, just some feelings.

"What do you mean you're not good with words? You spend half your time talking."

"I mean about serious things." Sure, when it comes to the zoo, or natural disasters, or any other fact he's picked up on in his life, talking is what he's best at, but this... this is different. First of all, there is the chance it could go bad. Then there is the fact that Eddie deserves the best. If he's going to try to find the words to tell him, they'll have to be the perfect words. Buck just knows that no matter what he comes up with, it'll never be good enough for Eddie.

"Okay, what else could you do besides tell him?"

Avoid him forever? Shove the feelings deep down and avoid them forever? Avoidance. That seems like a good strategy. He knows he would never be able to do it though. Avoiding Eddie is out of the questions, and his feelings... well he already tried to pretend like they weren't there. But every day Eddie walks into work, he looks just a little better than the day before and eventually it drove Buck out of his denial. "I don't know. I need to find some way to test the waters, see how he might react." He doesn't expect Eddie to feel the same way, of course he doesn't, but he's going to have to know at some point if he's ever going to be able to act normal around him again.
