(Yeah I know I'm the worst at titles.)
(This one is a request)
It was a warm October night in Smiling valley, one of the last few warm nights before the chilly front of autumn came in and everything got cold, and Kickin Chicken was making his way over to his friend Cali Melon's watermelon shaped house, with a small bouquet of reddish-pink hibiscus flowers.
Ever since he and Cali had first hung out and become friends not long after Cali moved in, they had hung out more often, and Kickin even convinced him to make friends with a few of the other critters, like Dogday, Bubba, Crafty and even Bobby. He pretty much got along decently well with all the smiling critters except for Catnap, who he was still afraid of, which Kickin thought was fair.
But the moments when they hung out together, to snack on stuff, or practice skateboarding(which Cali was surprisingly good at), or pranked Hoppy by making her soccer ball move when she wasn't looking without getting caught, it was all wonderful. By this point, they were great friends.
But one day, Kickin 'thought, 'why stop there?'
With how well they got along and hung out, maybe they could be MORE than friends...
He did think Cali was really adorable, and super sweet, and his whole turning invisible thing was really cool.
So tonight was the night that he wanted to ask him on a proper date.
Taking a deep breath, He knocked on the watermelon's door.
Cali peeks out.
"Oh, H-hi Kickin!" He says with a shy smile. "What's up?"
Kickin smiles. "Hey Cali, I have a question."
Cali opens the door fully. "What is it?"
Kickin takes a deep breath, pulling the flowers out from behind his back.
"W-would... you like to go on a date with me...?"Cali blushes, making him even redder than he already was.
He shyly accepts the flowers.
"L-like a date-date?" he asks. "Or just like, a friend hangout?"
Kickin 'gulps. "U-uh, a date-date." He says. "A romantic date."
Cali turns even redder.Kickin starts to doubt himself. "I-it's alright if no!" He says anxiously.
He looks away. "If you just wanna hangout as friends, o-or if you wanna stay by yourself then it's fin-"
"Yes."
Kickin blushes, looking back at Cali, who was smiling.
"R-really...?"
Kickin says, aghast.
Cali nods, gently taking his hand. "Sure, why not?" He says softly. "I think it might be fun!"
Kickin smiles nervously. "A-alright then!" he says "Where do you wanna go?"
Cali thinks. "Hmm... Are there any romantic spots around here?"
Kickin thinks too. "Well in Smiling valley, there's Stardew park, sunset point, the gemberry woods..."
He gets an idea, snapping his fingers. "Oh, I got it!" he says.
"There's a lake nearby the park, so maybe we could sit by the lake, and... watch the stars together?"
Cali smiles softly. "That sounds lovely."
Kickin smiles. "Great!" he says.
He offers an arm. "Shall we go?"
Cali giggles and takes it. "Lets."
And so the two guys set off to the park, chatting happily as they did so.
Cali tells Kickin about his life before he moved to smiling valley.
He grew up in a rainforest pretty far from Smiling valley, before deciding to move to a more peaceful and quiet location which was a pretty good change for him. And Kickin thought that was radical.
When they arrived at the park, both of them sat by the lake, so they could watch the moonlight sparkling on the water.
Cali leaned his head on Kickin's shoulder while Kickin had his arm around him, holding him close.
"You're really cute, you know that?" Kickin says softly.
Cali blushes and giggles a bit. "Thank you, you are also cute."
Kickin blushes and smiles, nuzzling his head a bit. "Thanks."
They continued to cuddle a bit while watching the moonlight on the lake.
Suddenly, Kickin gets an idea.
"Say Cali, you wanna see something awesome?"
He says.
Cali sits up. "Sure, what is it?"
Kickin stands up, going towards the lake.
"What are you doing...?" Cali asked.
Kickin hops onto one of the fallen logs in the lake, posing as he balances.
He smirks to Cali. "Whatcha t-think?" He says as he tries to balance.
Cali looks worried. "Um... I think you should maybe get off that before you fall in?"
Kickin laughs. "I'm not gonna fall-" He shifts his weight more. "-In, I'm too cool for that!"
As soon as he says that, he loses his balance.
Cali gasps. "Kickin be careful!"
Kickin tries to balance himself. "I am! I got it!"
Unfortunately, he couldn't quite get it back, as he loses his balance and falls off the log into the water.
Cali immediately goes to get Kickin, dragging him out of the water.
"W-what on earth were you thinking!?" He says angrily. "You almost drowned!"
Kickin looks down in shame. "I... I'm sorry.."
He closes his eyes, almost crying. "I-I was just trying to impress you..." He says sadly. "S-So you'd think I was cool... and... "
He sighs, looking down. "Maybe agree to be my boyfriend..."
Cali was silently blushing for a moment, then gently took Kickin's face in his hands.
"Look at me?" He asks, softly.
Kickin looked Cali in the eye, seeing his soft smile.
Cali stands on his tip toes to lean forward, kissing him passionately on the lips.
(Yes I know chickens don't have lips shush you're ruining the moment)
Kickin goes red, impulsively wrapping his arms around Cali's back and returning it.
When Cali pulls back, he looks deeply into Kickin's eyes.
"I already think that you are the coolest."
Kickin smiles, Crying a bit. "R-really...?"
Cali nods, gently wiping his tears. "Yes, Kickin..." he says softly. "You are the most rad guy ever."
Kickin hugs him tight. "Thank you...." He says. "You're the coolest too..."
Cali giggles. "Glad you think so."He smiles shyly. "And... I'd love to be your boyfriend..." He says, blushing.
Kickin's eyes practically turn to hearts. "R-really?!"
Cali nods. "Of course!"
Kickin smiles wider than he ever had before.
The two now lovers share another kiss under the moonlight as the leaves fall around them.
