Chapter 7

Your head pounded as you layed on the cold wooden floor. You'd had another sleepless night. You also smelled, probably pretty bad, though you didn't notice much as you got used to the smell. They let you out to go to the bathroom, supervised of course, but you haven't had a chance to bathe yet. And the look and feel of your grimey clothes was also a reminder that you've been wearing the same clothes since you were put in this cell. Your whole body felt sore from constantly being on the unforgiving wooden floors. You're weakened state probably didn't help ethier, with you having lost quite a bit of weight since you first arrived. It wasn't that they were starving you, but you just couldn't stomach anything. You ate fine at first. When you began to lose your appetite, you still tried to eat what you could, for Bucket's sake at least. But now, you just couldn't bother to care anymore. Your appetite had shrunk so muc,h you could barely manage 1 full meal a day. If you tried to eat more, you'd just ended up throwing it up, so you didn't bother trying anymore. The lack of food, sleep, exercise, hygiene, and your poor mental state, left you as nothing more than a living zombie. You didn't even have the energy to hold most of a conversation with Bucket anymore, and you were kinda just zoned out most of the time.

Your current bout of restless sleep was Interrupted by what sounded like an argument of some sort. You couldn't make out what they were saying, but the sound was coming from outside the building door. You think you recognized a few voices... The chief, the blacksmith, Bucket... And another familiar voice, though you couldn't place it. This was honestly the most interesting thing to happen since Bucket told you about a person named Thor Bonecrusher? You weren't paying much attention. But that happened...? It happened awhile ago.

You heard the voices stop... You heard the door open, and unfamiliar light footsteps... The footsteps stopped infront of your cell door, and a foot entered your field of vision. You blinked confused. No, you weren't seeing things. It really was a person with just one foot. No wooden stump, so it wasn't the blacksmith. The peg leg did seem familiar though... You mustered up some energy to left you head up to see the face of your new visitor. It was Hiccup...?

What are you doing here...?

His eyes seemed to widen as he took in your appearance, and he seemed... concerned?

Are you just going to stare...?

He opened your cell door, and came to kneel by you.

"Bucket said you weren't doing good, but I didn't think it was bad. Are you okay?" He asked concerned.

Oh, I'm just peachy...

He shook your shoulder, looking more worried.

"Hey. Can you hear me?" He asked with a bit of fear.

I said I'm fine... Why do you keep-. Oh...

You realized you weren't actually actually speaking this whole time. No wonder he was concerned. When was the last time you talked...? Huh. You can't remember...

"Hey..." You croaked out.

You winced, the act of talking hurting you thoat. Hiccup sighed a bit in relief. He reached behind him, and grabbed a water pouch off his belt.

"Here." He said, as he offered it to you.

You struggled a bit, but managed to get into a sitting position. You accepted the water pouch, took off the cork, and drunk what water you could. You weren't dehydrated, but the water did help soothe your throat a bit. When you finished, you placed the cork back, and gave the water pouch back. Hiccup took it back, and reattached it to his belt. He then stood up, and offered his hand. You frowned at it confused, tilting your head.
