This world never liked my smile,
It mocks the way I fake it,
A curve that hides a thousand miles,
Of pain I cannot shake it.I think, perhaps, I don't deserve
The light a smile portrays,
Yet still, it forms upon my lips,
Through shadows and dismay. How strange it feels to smile in pain,
A paradox in disguise,
The laughter echoes hollowed out,
Beneath my weary eyes. But somewhere deep, the heart endures,
Despite the world’s disdain,
I smile because I hope to heal
And rise beyond the pain.
