"Go Eda!" Eda's biggest supporter was in the crowd cheering for her. Beside them were their friends Perry and Darius, who really didn't care. "Her team is winning!" Raine stated which was already obvious. "Relax Whispers, it's just a grugby match" said Darius. "Woo hoo! Go Eda!" Eda didn't really hear them because of the crowd but she still knew her best friend was cheering for her. "She can't even hear you Raine" Perry whispered. At the end of the match Eda threw her Grugby jacket to Raine and winked which obviously made them blush.
"You did it Eda! You won!" Raine hugged Eda as she came off the stadium. "I knew you could do it!" "You were like awesome out there". "Hey thanks Rainestorm" Eda blushed seeing that Raine still had her grugby jacket around their waist. "All hail Lord Calamity!" Lilith said putting Eda on top of her. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it in time to watch your match" Lilith said. "You were a part of the team you were supposed to come" "Eh I had homework". "Want to get some ice cream?" Lilith asked "Sure" answered Eda. "Lord Calamity Lord Calamity!" Her friends chanted as they walked into the sunset sky.
As Raine closed the door they realized that the house was dark and decided to turn on a light switch. There they saw their mom knocked out and a few vodka bottles laying beside her. Raine turned to their room but suddenly they were grabbed by their mom. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT SO LATE!" She asked, Raine thought she was just tired so they didn't answer. "Answer me!" She demanded hitting them with an empty glass bottle. "I..... I was watching a grugby match" Raine replied tears starting to form up. Their mother slowly let go of their hand. Raine made it to their room and locked the door their vision was all blurry they looked into their mirror and a piece of glass was sticking out of their head. Before Raine could do anything they fainted and fell on the floor.
"Raine! Raine! Are you in there?" A familiar voice asked. "Huh?" Raine softly whispered as they began to open their eyes. Raine was in a patient trolley and nurses and doctors were pushing it. Among some of them were Eda. Raine was placed in a bed as the doctors started examining their wounds and wrapping them. "Eda.....What happened?" Raine asked softly, "So umm a lot happened actually" Eda replied.
Flashback:
Raine made it to their room and locked the door their vision was all blurry they looked into their mirror and a piece of glass was sticking out of their head. Before Raine could do anything they fainted and fell on the floor. The following morning no one saw Raine at school so the principal decided to call their mom but she wasn't picking up. Their neighbor, Eda's mom, Gwendolyn was sent to check on them. When she entered there was no sign of anyone but on the floor there were blood marks leading to Raine's room. When she tried to open the door it was locked, she tried everything but nothing worked that's when she called the fire department to tear down the door. When they arrived they used hammers to take down the door inside the room. Raine was lying down unconscious a piece of glass stuck in their head and blood all over the carpet, then they were immediately rushed to the hospital.
End of flashback
"But you don't need to worry about anything Rainestorm" Eda assured them after explaining. "So how are you feeling?". "Can I be honest with you Eda?" Raine asked "I don't see why not?" Stated Eda. "First of all I feel dizzy, and I feel like throwing up Second of all I feel like I was hit in the head with a brick and third of all who changed my clothes!?" Raine asked. "Relax its over your old clothes" Eda assured them chuckling. "You nearly gave me a heart attack Calamity" Raine said making Eda chuckle even more. "Sorry to interrupt you ma'am but visiting time is over" the nurse stated. " 'night, Rainestorm see you tomorrow" Eda said kissing Raine's forehead. Raine waved her good-bye and slowly fell asleep.
When Raine woke up to the sun on their eyes. A nurse gave him some hot chocolate and waffles. "Thank you" Raine said when was handed the tray. Raine never had much to do because they couldn't walk due to a little damage on their spinal cord. Raine was wondering what happened to their mother after the incident was she finally going to jail away from them?. Raine laid their head back down on the pillow of the hospital bed.
"Has anybody heard from Raine?" Perry asked as he came over to their usual lunch spot. "Nu uh I heard that they're in the hospital" Darius responded taking a bite out of his sandwich. "That's crazy man!" Perry exclaimed. "In fact it is not crazy" Lilith said coming over to the table, "Eda visited them last night at the hospital, our mom found them unconscious on the floor". "Are they hurt?" Perry asked concerning. "Actually they got spinal cord damage and the doctors are supposed to run an x-ray scan on them" Lilith responded. "They still aren't sure about what happened yet". "Whatcha guys talking about?" Eda asked coming to the table. She looked exhausted eye bags under her eyes she looked awful."Uh Rai-" before Darius could finish Lilith gave him an elbow bump to signal him to stop. "Yea yea we were talking about the rain, you know we've been having some dry conditions". "Well keep doing your nerd stuff I'm visiting Raine this afternoon want to come?" Eda suggested "Ya ya sure we're free" Lilith replied. "Actually if you don't mind me asking what happened to them?" Perry asked. " Well they got a piece of glass stuck in their head they got unconscious, spinal cord damage, people really don't know what happened so detectives are supposed to look into it and-" "Eda I mean what happened to their mom, wasn't she there?" Darius questioned. " They said she went missing when they found Raine, I'm not supposed to be telling anyone this so please don't spread it" Eda said after yapping for fifteen minutes straight. "WHAT!" Perry exclaimed after just listening to Eda talk. "That's a lot I don't think I can handle it" Perry stated. "We're all worried Perry, It would make you feel better coming for a visit". said Eda taking up her bag and leaving. " She's been under a lot of stress since Raine went to the hospital". Lilith commented when she was out of sight. "We can see that" Darius answered.
At the end of school Eda went to Grugby practice as usual. "Catch!" Odalia threw the ball to Eda hitting her in the face. Odalia and Eda would occasionally play on opposing teams for fun but when training to go against other schools only the best players could be on the team. "You were supposed to catch the ball" Odalia whispered to her. "I know that!" Eda growled. "Then next time do it". Eda has been distracted lately, by homework, Raine, chores mostly Raine. They told her about how their mom has been treating them but she did nothing about it, now Raine is in the hospital and God knows where their mother is hiding from her deed.
"Hey Rainestorm, I got you some flowers" Eda said. "You- you could have helped me but- but you didn't" Raine was talking in a serious tone. "I-I didn't mean it like that Raine, please forgive me" Eda pleaded. "Why Eda? You could have helped me, this could have been prevented, I'm sorry but I can't forgive you" Eda woke up from her weird dream panting, it felt so real. "Hey Eda you good?" Darius asked her, "You were knocked out for an hour". "Yeah yeah I'm fine" Eda said getting up. "I'm going home now".
Eda took up her bag and went outside. She went to a flower shop and bought a bouquet of snapdragon flowers for Raine they are their favorite types of flowers. When Eda got home she glanced over at Raine's house it was empty as usual since the incident. She decided to climb over the fence. She discovered an attic, which Raine never spoke about. The attic was dark so she went back down for a flashlight. Eda had to hit the flashlight a few times to get it working. She found pens and paper on a table and a light switch. Once Eda turned on the light switch, there was blood all over the floor. She looked in front of her the most disturbing and disgusting thing was there, Raine's Dad's head was hung up on the wall blood dripping from its tissues and cords hanging from it. Eda froze at the sight. Raine always told Eda how their dad left, claiming that their mom is crazy. He would still send letters to Raine. Eda took the papers ran down the stairs and never came back. She put the papers under her bed and changed. On her way out she put down the bouquet of Snapdragon flowers. " Hey Eda what took you so long?" Perry asked as she came inside. Eda saw Darius Lilith and Perry all waiting for her, she wanted to tell them what she saw but she wasn't supposed to be there. "Nothing, nothing nothing is wrong" Eda assured them. When the nurse told them it was ok to come inside they went. "Hey champ!" Perry said ruffling Raine's hair, Raine's seeing wasn't so good after the incident so they had to fix their glasses a few times to recognize Perry. "So what's the plan for your birthday tomorrow?" Lilith asked them, Raine just shrugged. The nurse was outside talking to Eda about Raine's guardian for right now. Eda just told her that her mom would be their guardian and gave her her number. The nurse was discussing something on the phone with her mom as Eda went into the room. "So how's things going at hexside?" Raine asked them. "Not much than the regular happening" Darius responded. Raine took off their glasses and rubbed it a few times before asking "Where's Eda?". "Actually I'm not sure" Lilith answered. They looked all over the hospital and couldn't find Eda.
