The warm glow of the sunset bathed the park in hues of gold and pink, creating a breathtaking backdrop for the evening. Lily and Gabriel strolled hand in hand along the winding path, their fingers intertwined, feeling as if they were the only two people in the world.

It had been a few months since their heartfelt conversation and intimate interaction at Gabriel's apartment, and their connection had grown deeper. Each shared moment brought them closer, and the anticipation of what lay ahead filled Lily with a mix of excitement and nervousness.

As they walked, Gabriel shared stories of his childhood, his laughter mixing with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves. "I used to come here all the time with my family," he said, glancing around. "This park holds some of my best memories."

"I can see why," Lily replied, her eyes sparkling with delight. "It's beautiful here."

After a while, they reached a secluded clearing where a large oak tree spread its branches wide, creating a natural canopy above them. A soft blanket was spread on the grass, adorned with flickering candles and a small picnic basket.

Gabriel smiled, his eyes shining with excitement. "Surprise!" he exclaimed, gesturing to the setup. "I wanted to do something special for us."

Lily gasped in delight, her heart swelling with affection. "This is amazing, Gabriel!"

They settled onto the blanket, and Gabriel poured them each a glass of wine. The atmosphere was romantic, the sun casting a soft glow around them, and for a moment, everything felt perfect.

As they toasted to their time together, Lily felt a flutter of excitement mixed with nerves. Gabriel looked at her, his expression serious yet warm. "Lily, I've been thinking a lot about us—about how much you mean to me."

Her heart raced as she met his gaze. "What do you mean?"

"I've never felt this way about anyone before," he continued, his voice steady. "You've brought joy into my life in ways I didn't think were possible. You make me want to be a better man. You make me want to beg."

Tears pricked at the corners of Lily's eyes, overwhelmed by the depth of his words. "Gabriel..." cupping his face.

He took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving hers. "I can see a future with you—a beautiful future. I want to build a life together, share our dreams, and create our own family. I know it's a bit early but, I don't want to waste my time. I want to help you overcome whatever challenges you are facing"

Lily's breath caught in her throat. The weight of his words settled over her, and her heart swelled with hope and love.

As the minutes passed, the sun dipped lower on the horizon, and the sky transitioned from warm gold to a deepening blue. Time seemed to stretch, the world around them fading as they locked eyes, lost in the moment.

Gabriel reached into his pocket, pulling out a small velvet box. He knelt on one knee, the soft grass beneath him, and opened the box to reveal a stunning engagement ring, sparkling in the fading light.

"Lily Smith," he said, his voice filled with emotion, "will you marry me?"

For a moment, time stood still. The world around them faded away as Lily stared at the ring, then at Gabriel's earnest face. Every moment they had shared flooded her mind—the laughter, the tears, the love—and she realized just how much he meant to her.

"Yes! Yes, I will!" she exclaimed, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks.

Gabriel slipped the ring onto her finger, and it fit perfectly as if it had always belonged there. He stood up, pulling her into his arms and lifting her off the ground in a joyous embrace.

"I can't believe this is happening!" Lily laughed, her heart soaring.

"Me neither," Gabriel replied, his face lit up with joy. "You make me the happiest man alive, and I promise to always cherish you."

As they pulled apart, the reality of their commitment washed over them. They shared a passionate kiss, sealing their promise to one another amidst the beauty of the park.

The air was electric with anticipation as they settled back onto the blanket, basking in their happiness. Lily couldn't stop smiling at the ring on her finger. "I can't wait to tell Riley!" she said, her excitement bubbling over.

"Let's celebrate first," Gabriel suggested, pouring more wine. "This is just the beginning of our adventure together."

As they toasted again, Lily felt a sense of peace and belonging wash over her. She was ready to embrace the future with Gabriel by her side, knowing that together, they could face anything life threw their way.
