The afternoon sun streamed through the windows of Gabriel's apartment as he and Lily prepared for a family dinner at his parents' house. Lily felt a mixture of excitement and nerves bubbling inside her. While she loved Gabriel's family and enjoyed spending time with them, the thought of being in a family setting was a bit daunting.

"Are you ready for this?" Gabriel asked, glancing over at her as he adjusted his tie. His playful smirk did little to ease her nerves.

"As ready as I'll ever be," Lily replied, taking a deep breath. "I just want them to like me."

"They already do," he assured her, brushing a gentle kiss against her temple. "Just be yourself."

As they arrived at his parents' house, the familiar warmth and chaos welcomed them. Laughter echoed from the kitchen, and the aroma of delicious food filled the air. Gabriel's mother greeted them with open arms, her eyes lighting up at the sight of her son and his fiancée.

"Lily! It's so wonderful to see you!" she exclaimed, pulling Lily into a tight hug. "We've been looking forward to this dinner!"

"Thank you for having me," Lily said, her nerves slowly dissipating in the warmth of Gabriel's family.

As the evening progressed, they gathered around the dining table, a feast spread before them. Conversation flowed easily, but as the dinner progressed, Lily noticed subtle tensions brewing beneath the surface. Questions about their future began to surface.

"So, when are you two planning on starting a family?" Gabriel's father asked, a twinkle in his eye.

Lily felt her heart race, caught off guard. She exchanged a glance with Gabriel, who smiled encouragingly. "We're taking our time to enjoy being engaged first," he replied smoothly.

"Family is important," his mother chimed in. "You never know how quickly time flies."

Lily felt a knot tighten in her stomach. She wanted to share her hopes for a family, but the pressure felt overwhelming. The conversation shifted, but she could sense the underlying expectations and the urgency.

As dessert was served, the discussion turned to careers. Gabriel's brother, Mark, voiced his opinions about the importance of stability before starting a family, causing tension to ripple through the room.

"Don't rush into it," Mark advised, glancing at Lily. "You want to make sure you're both ready for the responsibility."

Lily felt her cheeks heat as she forced a smile. "We're discussing it, but we want to make sure we're on the same page."

As the dinner progressed, the conversation continued to circle back to family and expectations. After dessert, Lily excused herself to the bathroom, needing a moment to breathe.

In the quiet solitude, she splashed cold water on her face, trying to calm her racing heart. Just as she was about to compose herself, Gabriel knocked on the door.

"Lily? Are you okay in there?" he asked softly.

"Yeah, I just needed a minute," she replied, opening the door to find him leaning against the wall, concern etched across his features.

"Come here," he said, pulling her into his arms. "I'm sorry about my family. I didn't mean for it to feel overwhelming."

"I just want them to like me," Lily confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "And I worry about what they think about our plans for the future."

Gabriel cupped her face in his hands, looking deep into her eyes. "You're amazing, and they love you. We'll figure this out together."

As the weight of the moment settled between them, Lily felt a rush of emotion. She leaned into him, their bodies fitting perfectly as he held her close. "Thank you for being so understanding."

"I'll always support you," he promised, brushing his lips against hers in a gentle kiss that ignited the lingering tension from earlier.

But as the kiss deepened, Lily felt a mix of desire and urgency. The heat between them intensified, and she found herself overwhelmed by the need to connect with Gabriel on a deeper level.

"Let's get out of here," she suggested, her voice low and sultry.

Gabriel's eyes widened in surprise, but a playful grin spread across his face. "Are you serious?"

"Absolutely," she said, her heart racing with excitement. "I need you."

With a knowing look, Gabriel took her hand, and they slipped out the back door of the house, careful not to draw attention to themselves. The cool night air hit them, sending shivers down Lily's spine as they stepped into the backyard, illuminated by the soft glow of fairy lights.

Once they were hidden behind a tall hedge, Gabriel pulled her close, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss. The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them and the electric connection they shared.

"I can't believe we just left like that," Lily laughed breathlessly, her cheeks flushed.

"Sometimes you have to seize the moment," Gabriel replied, his voice thick with desire as he pressed her against the cool wooden fence.

Lily felt her heart race as Gabriel's hands traveled down her back, igniting a fire within her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer as their kisses grew more heated.

In that moment, the pressures of family expectations faded away, replaced by the intensity of their connection. They lost themselves in each other, exploring the depths of their desire under the stars.

When they finally pulled away, breathless and grinning, Lily rested her forehead against Gabriel's. "That was... wow."

"Definitely worth the risk," he said, his eyes shining with mischief.

As they made their way back to the house, Lily felt a sense of renewed confidence. Despite the challenges they faced with family dynamics and future plans, she knew that with Gabriel by her side, they could navigate anything together.
