If there's one thing Taufan's good at, it's..
..
What is he good at?
He lives foolishly by himself, not knowing what to do with his life. Just going on a full circle.Wake up, go to school, do homework and study, then sleep. And finally, repeat.
Taufan hates to admit how he can seem like a fool sometimes. Wandering around and doing absolutely nothing, his brothers might as well just yell at him and call him autistic.
Today was no ordinary day, he lumbered to school with a slow and weak gait. His hands on the straps of his backpack, eyes downcast.
He enters the building, mapping his way to his classroom. Duri beside him, but the green themed boy swaggered with his hands in his pockets, his chin up from how low he thinks of others.
The pair entered the classroom, Taufan went to his seat, the very front and very near the teacher's table. He takes out a small notebook alongside his pencilcase. He started to just doodle whatever came into mind.
After a few minutes, class started, he sighed and got his books ready.
.
"Do you like stars?"
Yaya asked her friend, she held her book tight to her chest. A gentle yet happy smile on her face, the view that night was wonderful.
Taufan can't help but stare at her, the dark starry night and the soft streetlights highlighted her beautiful- almost perfect face.
"Yeah, I think they're cool."
The two stared at the scene, the stars that night were so bright, the whole sky was filled with small dots of white.
"Me too, stars are always cool." Yaya sighed contently, she placed the book on the bench, before laying down on the grass.
Taufan saw the action with a warped face, he disliked the thought of having the possibility that bugs might crawl into his ear.
Fighting his brain, he kneeled and lay beside her."Yeah, always have been."
.
Warmth..
What an odd feeling, Taufan felt his cheeks reddened. Feeling the warmth of his cheeks and from his heart.
Taufan and Yaya were huddled on a couch together, the two were on a honeymoon now, it had been two weeks after their wedding.
It felt just like yesterday when the two were just friends that met during primary school.
Yaya had her arms around him, it was such an unfamiliar feeling. Why does it feel so.. warm, welcoming and.. nice?
Growing up with brothers, they were often taught to have the mindset of having to always act and look tough, no weaknesses to be expected and not to cry.
As the saying goes, boys don't cry.
But after Yaya and everything, Taufan was welcomed by a new narrative, one that taught him that, boys do cry.
That ugly mindset that he was forced to grow into was just a societal norm that pushes men and women apart, creating distances and unneeded conflicts.
Taufan leaned into the touch, he marveled at the warmth that engulfed him.
"I love you, Taufan."Yaya whispered softly, her head on his shoulder. The way her face was so gentle, a stark contrast to his confusing thoughts.
Taufan hums,
"I love you too, Yaya."
