Taufan... Isn't much of a good cook, he usually prefers Instant noodles more than anything.
Sopan knows this fact about his father, it was probably due to the fact that Taufan had often ordered out instead of cooking.
"Hmm... What should I cook?" The teen ponders, he then shuffles in the cabinets.
"Oh, well, sayur kang kung could do!"
As Sopan started to prepare the materials. He starts to remember the glory days.
Taufan was a single father, though, now thinking of it, that one coworker in his office job seemed to be interested in his father.
Eh, who knows. What if Taufan had a secret admirer?
.
"I thought you said you wanted to stay over at a friend's house?" Taufan asks his son, who can only smile.
"It's.. nothing, just want to show my appreciation to you."
"It's the least I can do, all of that food and shelter and stuff are the bare minimum anyways. And a little love here and there can't hurt."
Sopan smiles gently, "You're a great father, you know that?"
.
"You cooked this for me, son?" Taufan asks, a little baffled. Looking down at the beautifully made dish.
Sopan smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah... You've done so much for me as a kid, decided to repay all of it to you."
"It's my duty, to take care of you anyway."
Sopan smiles, grateful to have a father like Taufan. He looks down at his plate, praying before eating.
He lifts his glass, Taufan stared at his son, before realising what he meant. He lifted his glass, mimicking his son.
"To the world," Sopan started
". To the ones in the ground," Taufan continued
"We let the world burn to live in harmony, together."
They said in unison. And clicked their glasses together, enjoying their dinner.
~ day 5: cook.
