Kyle felt a surge of excitement today. He was about to meet his brother Ilay's boyfriend—who also happened to be the younger nephew of his close friend Jeong Chang In and the younger brother of the renowned genius Jeong Jae. Kyle knew well how much Chang In and Jeong Jae adored Jeong Tae-ui. The revelation that Ilay was in a relationship with Tae-ui had shocked him, especially since Chang In supported it.
When Kyle had asked Ilay directly, his brother had outright refused to meet. But two days ago, Kyle had received a surprising call from Chang In, informing him that Tae-ui was willing to meet. Without hesitation, Kyle booked a flight to Hong Kong, eager to see the rumored man.
Today, Kyle was meeting Tae-ui at a restaurant that Tae-ui had personally booked.
When Kyle arrived at the restaurant, he noticed something unusual—it was completely empty. While Kyle wasn't a regular at the establishment, the emptiness was unexpected, making the atmosphere feel exclusive and private.
A waiter approached, gesturing for Kyle to follow. He was led through the restaurant to a secluded area with a breathtaking sea view. In the middle of the vast space, there was only one table, perfectly positioned to take in the view of the ocean stretching out behind them.
Sitting at the table, already waiting, was a young man whom Kyle assumed was Jeong Tae-ui.
Kyle approached the table and introduced himself, "Hello. I'm Kyle."
The man stood up gracefully and extended a hand with a soft smile. "Hi. I'm Jeong Tae-ui. Nice to meet you."
As Kyle shook Tae-ui's hand, he couldn't help but be impressed, perhaps even a bit fascinated. Tae-ui was undeniably charming. His hair was styled neatly up, his serene smile only enhanced his sweet, youthful face, and his hands, which Kyle had just shaken, were soft. Tae-ui's calm, slow voice gave off an air of tranquility that was in stark contrast to the chaotic energy Kyle associated with his brother, Ilay.
Kyle's first thought was how such a serene man could possibly stand beside his brother, who was practically a madman. Should he try to persuade Tae-ui to break up with Ilay? I think I should show him the reality... He can't possibly be aware of what he's gotten into, Kyle thought, his mind racing as he sat across from the younger man.
A waiter approached their table to take their order for drinks. Kyle asked for a pineapple juice.
"Sorry, we don't have that available" the waiter replied.
Kyle frowned slightly, muttering, "Okay, but it was written on the menu..."
"If you specifically want that, you can get it" Tae-ui said softly, glancing at Kyle.
Kyle waved it off. "No, I'm fine with anything. It's just that pineapple juice is my favorite."
Tae-ui smiled warmly. "Let's get it then" he said, turning to the waiter. "Please bring a pineapple juice and a water for me."
The waiter immediately nodded and agreed, despite having just denied Kyle earlier. Kyle noticed the exchange but decided not to comment on it, though it left him slightly puzzled.
A moment later, Tae-ui handed Kyle a small bag. "I got a little gift for you. Please accept it" Tae-ui said, smiling politely.
Kyle accepted the bag with a smile. "Thank you. I didn't bring anything for you..."
Tae-ui's eyes glinted with amusement. "Nothing? Not even a few million dollars?"
"What? You want that?" Kyle asked, blinking in surprise.
Tae-ui leaned back in his seat, tilting his head with a playful smile. "How else do you plan to convince me to break up with Ilay? There's no such thing as a free lunch."
