Rukayya's POV
📍Abuja, Nigeria.

“Rumaisa! Wallahil Azeem if you don't come down in the next three minutes, you can find yourself another homo sapien to drive you."
I complained for the umpteenth time. This has been my situation for the last thirty minutes. I have been waiting for that buffalo to get down so we can get going.

But what can I say?

At this point, I will rather go anywhere than the Abba Tukur's residence. For me, it's like going to a house filled with rich persons who are there to attend another rich persons' wedding.

Not that I have a personal beef with rich people.

*Smirks* I am also one!
I just don't like the idea of mingling with people I don't know. People my age would tell you that they love meeting new people, but I am the complete opposite of that.

Don't get me wrong, I am very nice to strangers Sha.

But then who wouldn't drive around town to sit with a couple of strangers for an exclusive Birkin Bag?

Yep! That was the deal I made with Rumaisa. I would drive her to all the wedding events in return for her Black Birkin Bag.

I had been eyeing the bag ever since my dad bought it for Rumaisa during one of his many travels. And now that I have gotten the opportunity, I grabbed with two hands!

A few minutes later, the devil came down, struggling with her makeup stuffs, ranging from the whole make up kit, the makeup chair and her ring light.

"Adda Rukky maybe if you had helped me carry some of these stuffs, we would have left already." She looked at me with hope, lol, you don't know what you have gotten yourself into young girl.

I Sha decided to be a nice sister and help her carry some of the "load" . We bid goodbye to our mum and headed to the car park. We decided to go with the BMW M5.

Rumaisa already gave me the address so I immediately inserted it in the GPS.

"Adda Rukky did you speak to Hamma Ramadan?" Rumaisa asked breaking the silence in the car.
Not gonna lie, my heart skipped a beat by the mere mention of my brother's name. It was a topic I didn't really enjoy discussing.

"No. Did you?"

"We spoke three weeks ago, when he called mama. But it was short, you know, the usual." She added with a snort.

At least he cared to call mama.
"Come, what did he even call mama for?"
"His so called wife is pregnant. He called to ask mama few things about pregnancy stuff. He didn't even care to ask about mama's well being." She added with a scoff.

" Well what do you expect, the witch has brainwashed him. Not only that, but his job and everything, he feels like he is too big to be around his family." This time I talked , because the thing is getting out of hand.

"We don't need him either, we have each other and that is all that matters." Rumaisa said and looked at me.

"You are right Maysa. But still, he is our brother. Let's just keep on praying for him and may Allah guide him to the right path."

"Gaskiya ney, Aameen dai."

Silence fills the car, each of us lost in our thoughts, the weight of the situation pressing down on us.
Just then, Maysa decides to break the silence.
"Omo! Adda Rukky I still can't believe I am meeting the Abba Tukur's!" Of course she had to talk about them, at this point I am afraid Rumaisa will ask if they will adopt her.

"What's so special about them anyway?" She's starting to get on my nerves wallah, I just want to go and see if they are actually worth the hype.

"Hmm, they are just..... amazingggg! I just hope I get to meet Salim, Omo! Ramlat will be sooo jealous, I can even picture her jealous face."

"Please don't tell me she is a fan of that Salim person that you've been ranting about." I was genuinely hoping.

"Oh yes she is! She has never seen his face though, but she dreams of meeting him in reality."

I just scoffed because I really have nothing to say, the mad people I have as siblings sha.

" Allah ya kyauta!" That has been always what I will say, always and always.

"Should I show you his pic?"
I won't lie, I badly wanted to see who the Salim was but... Steeze must be maintained.

"Nah, not interested." I shrugged.

We continued bickering through out the journey.

To them, it was a normal trip to a normal house. But in reality, it was one that would change the lives of the Maidalas' for better or for worse. One that will unravel many secrets . One that will make them regret their decision or be grateful that they made it.
