Tommy arrived home from school after a very peaceful walk. He opened the door to his home and called out, "Anyone home?" as he slid the key out of the keyhole. He had just hung up his coat by the door when he heard a familiar voice call back, "I'm here."

Tommy nodded and walked toward the kitchen, where Technoblade was making pasta. "Anyone else here?" he asked. Technoblade shook his head as he added some pepper. "Nah. Wilbur's out somewhere, and Dad's working late," he responded lazily. Tommy nodded awkwardly, feeling a bit uncomfortable as a few seconds of silence passed between them. Luckily, it was broken by Technoblade. "Are you hungry?"

Tommy thought about it for a second. "I could go for some food," he finally answered. Although he and Technoblade weren't the closest, taking food from him felt... off? Tommy couldn't find the right word to describe it, but it wasn't the best situation. However, refusing the food felt just as uncomfortable, so he decided to accept it. "Food's gonna be ready in a bit."

Tommy nodded gratefully and took that as his cue to dash to his room. He hated his interactions with Technoblade—not because of Technoblade himself, but because he loved and admired his brother more than anything. The problem was that Tommy felt he and Technoblade would never be as close as he wanted them to be.

He had an excellent relationship with Wilbur. They hung out constantly, complaining to each other about their days despite their age difference. They had shared many first experiences and felt very comfortable around each other.

But he didn't have that with Technoblade. No matter how much he tried and yearned for it, he just didn't feel that Technoblade cared. He knew Technoblade did care; he had to, after all—Tommy was his brother. But Tommy didn't feel that Technoblade cared in the same way. He watched Technoblade and Wilbur together, seemingly inseparable as they joked with each other, roughhoused, and had late-night talks, and felt left out.

Days passed, and today Tommy was dying of boredom! Honestly, he didn't think he had ever been this bored in his entire life. Okay, admittedly that was a lie, but it was still a very serious problem. He was rewatching his favorite show for the 56th time, and even that wasn't entertaining anymore.

He couldn't annoy his dad because he had gone to the store with Technoblade, and he couldn't annoy Wilbur because he was at work. It was honestly infuriating.

Tommy powered off the TV and was heading toward his room when he noticed Technoblade's door was halfway open and the lights were on. This was very strange because Technoblade was a particular person; he would never just forget to close his door or leave the lights on.

Tommy decided to do Technoblade a favor by closing the door and turning off the lights. However, fate had other plans. As Tommy peeked in to find the light switch, he was mesmerized by what he saw. Technoblade's room didn't even look like it belonged to the same house; it resembled a study corner of a library with the addition of a bed, and it was significantly bigger than Tommy's room!

"He won't notice if I make it quick..." Tommy said with a small smirk before slipping inside the room and closing the door behind him. His need for mischief overtook his thoughts.

Tommy felt a deep sense of comfort and longing being in Technoblade's room, and truthfully, he had no idea why, but he wasn't complaining. Everything was interesting and unique, even the books—though Tommy would never admit that out loud. He explored and looked at the surplus of books, papers, trinkets, and old VHS tapes Technoblade had.
