Kaliah's P.O.V

I've decided. I will find a way off the island, I think to myself as I was laying in Pan's bed watching him sleep. He looked so peaceful, no pain, no anger, no hateful looks either. I sighed. He was so cute. I pushed that thought out of my head and got back to planning my escape. I may have feelings for him but I can't stay here, I've already been here for too long. I have to play along so he doesn't suspect anything. Pretend I'm giving up, and hopefully, he'll let his guard down. Part of me wishes it wasn't like this, but the other part tells me to run far away from him, you've already gotten your heart broken. That's when my thoughts went to Atticus. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen him since I had punched him. I'll have to ask Pan when he wakes up.

I try to get out of bed but a hand pulls me back down. "What are you doing?" Pan asks looking up at me. "Getting up." He nods. "I better get up too, there are some clothes in the bathroom for you to change into." I nod and walk into the bathroom. When I get in and shut the door behind me I see a pair of brown trousers, a green shirt, and my boots. I hurriedly put them on and braided my hair. I walked out of the bathroom to see Pan already in his usual attire. "Are you ready for the day?" He asks. I nod. "Yup." We make our way out of his hut and to the camp for breakfast.

I walked over to where Pan was sitting and I was about to sit down when an arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me on to their lap. I looked up and saw Pan. "What are you doing?" I asked trying to stand up, only to be responded with him tightening his grip. "Cant I have you sit with me?" He asked. I scoffed. "Pan, I'm literally sitting on you." He laughed. "Does it sound like I care? I mean I am the one who sat you here, aren't I?" I rolled my eyes. "You act as if I'm stupid." He chuckled and rested his head on my shoulder. "You're smarter than me." I nodded. "Yes I am." I felt him smile against my skin. "You sound awfully confident in that." I nodded my head thinking about my plan to escape. "I am." Then I remembered who I meant to ask about. "P-Pan?" I ask. He keeps his head on my shoulder and mumbles, "Yes?" I take a deep breath. "Where's Atticus?" As soon as his name comes out Pan tightens his hold and his head snaps up to look at me. "Excuse me?" I look away from him and try to escape from his hold. "I just wanted to know where Atticus, I haven't seen him since...the incident." He turns my face to look at him with his hand firmly. "All you need to know is that he's not here anymore." I gulped. "O-okay." I tried once more to get up but yet again failed. "Where do you think you're going? Huh?" I shrugged. "To bathe." He looks me up and down . "You smell and look fine." I scoffed. "I want to bathe, I feel dirty." He shrugs and lets go. "Alright, don't take too long we have a new arrival coming soon." I nod and run off towards his hut.

I slowly bathe and think about how to escape. I could grow closer to Pan and make him trust me, act like I'm helpless so he wont expect a thing. Good idea, right?I just have to find something that I can use against him. Something he cares about. He doesn't care about anything but himself. This will be far more difficult than I originally thought.
