"What the fuck were you thinking you dumbass!?!" Ground Zero is a hero who is well known for his fiery temper and foul mouth. Ever since his first public appearance as a high school student at UA during a sports festival he developed a gruff image. Back then his barely contained outbursts and apparent anger caught people's eyes. And ears. He'd been dealing with a significant untreated trauma before enrolling in the prestigious hero training school and it was one such situation that finally lead to real help for the blonde. After that, he learned to cope with his problems more effectively and began opening up more to those he felt worthy of that trust. As the years went on and the youth matured his outward expressions of his inward thoughts subdued significantly. Unless he was around people he knew well and was comfortable with. Like now.

After graduating and debuting as a pro hero his personality publicly was a slight shock to many. The former Firecracker of UA's most famous class A was predicted to be a media glutton. A hero who played for the cameras and keep the paparazzi busy with gossip about wild parties and extravagant spending. However, what the word received was a powerful hero who was one of the most efficient in his generation that hated his own notoriety. The first few months he'd started working full time as a sidekick for Best Jeanist the media junkies followed him like a shadow only to find themselves chasing the man. Literally. Most non-battle footage of the blonde came in the form of blurry videos that were obviously filmed while the operator was running after the explosive man. After almost a year of being chased and hounded Ground Zero began standing his ground. Flashes of his pre-presentation temper flared when he chose to swear at a phone thrust in his face by someone requesting a quote rather than turn and walk away. He still went out of his way to avoid the spotlight as much as possible, but eventually the media got the hint.

Nowadays newscasters and paparazzi alike know to be wary of getting on his nerves following a successful villain battle or hostage rescue, less they become a target for him to vent his anger or frustrations at. Today, for example, a group of several reporters and photographers stood a safe distance away as the muscular blonde appeared to be berating his current teammate. The pair, along with two more heroes from the Jeanist Agency, had spent the last three hours rescuing civilians from a collapsed parking structure.

Earlier in the day a group of villains trying to impress the leader of the somewhat elusive and mostly defunct LOV had tried to take out several key members of the Hero Commission by destroying the one places they could always be found. The secure multistory municipal parking garage was exclusively used by members of various government agencies including the commission whose sole purpose was to stop villains like themselves.

The group apparently chose the commission for several reasons. Firstly, they wanted the attention of the now somewhat reclusive former protégé of the defeated All for One. Secondly, two amongst them had at one point wanted to be heroes. Authorities would later learn over the course of their investigation that the two graduated from a well known hero school in the northernmost province of Japan and. However, after only six months after their debut both were stripped of their licenses for abusing their station. One for accepting bribes from villains, the other for coercing victims into paying for their rescue through various acts.

When the group was deciding how to gain the notorious formerly widely followed LOV's attention they focused on their own personal grievances. In their recognizance the month leading up to the attack the villains managed to bribe one of the security personal for the office building and learned a lot about its preventative measures.

They'd originally planned to attack thought the large windows on the commission's floor but after getting some confidential design plans courtesy of their newly bought mole they shifted gears to attacking the parking structure.

The office building attached to the large structure was one of the most secure in the province. Being that not one but five different significant government agencies worked inside its walls the building itself was nearly impenetrable. Built from fireproof materials and reinforced concrete as well as ballistics glass and earthquake resistant supports made it a fortress. Attacking the building itself would have been one of the most fruitless endeavors the group of ambitious villains could have undertaken, and they knew it. Taking out the overbuilt slab of concrete where the employees parked their overpriced cars was the best option for the group to hit their desired targets. They could have attacked each commissioner individually at their homes or on the road, but the parking garage ensured the villains had multiple chances all at once.
