Hiroshi opened his eyes to find himself standing in a vast valley, the sky still soft with the first light of dawn. A pale mist clung to the earth, curling in delicate spirals as if the valley itself was breathing. The air felt cool on his skin, carrying with it a whisper of something familiar. He blinked, confused yet not entirely surprised.

This place again...

He turned slowly, his gaze sweeping across the endless stretch of the valley, his heart tightening with that same strange recognition. The same dream, the same familiar feelings. It felt as though the very ground remembered him, the breeze murmuring secrets he had heard a thousand times before.

Then, as always, the sound began-light, joyful, like laughter carried on the wind. He spun around to see them-those two children. They ran through the meadow, their laughter echoing, bright and free, their movements swift and wild, untouched by the weight of the world.

They were always here, in this dreams, always so happy and loud, their joy both a comfort and a mystery.

Hiroshi tried to take a step, but his body resisted, rooted to the ground as though it too belonged to this place. He wasn't alarmed, not really-this was how it always went.

The air grew heavier, thick with the fog of the dream, and though he stood still, the children were closer this time-closer than ever before. Their laughter rang clearer in his ears, like distant bells, sweet yet unreachable.

The girl's voice drifted through the mist, soft and urgent. "Let's eat some dessert, I'm way too hungry," she said, her words carrying an almost musical note, like a plea wrapped in joy.

The boy, slightly taller and with a mischievous grin, chuckled in response. "But eating only desserts isn't good! The adults have said so," he said, his tone teasing yet tinged with seriousness.

"Just a bit won't be a problem! Come on!" the girl insisted, her voice rising in delight as she beckoned him closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

With a resigned laugh, the boy relented, throwing his hands up in a playful surrender. "Okay, but this is the last time!" he declared.

The girl let out a soft chuckle, a sound that danced in the air like the flutter of leaves, and then she took off, racing ahead, her laughter trailing behind her like ribbons in the wind.

Hiroshi smiled slightly, watching the children as they danced through the misty meadow, their laughter weaving a spell that held him captive. Even though I don't know who they are, he thought, I do feel a weird connection with them. It was as if their joy resonated within him, stirring memories he couldn't quite grasp, a thread binding their hearts together in this ethereal realm.

The boy took off after the girl, his laughter mingling with the morning breeze. But then, in an instant, he halted, leaving Hiroshi surprised and momentarily suspended in time.
