"Mommy, food." Louis demands from his spot in the cart. Her two boys are sitting in the cart as Lisa pushes it around the store while she shops.
"Lellow!" Luca screams, and Louis agrees. Now two, almost three, years old, the boys are starting to use words, even if they aren't correct.
"Yeah lellow!"
"You want something that's yellow?" Lisa asks as she looks at an item and places it in the cart.
"Yes!" They yell in unison and Lisa chuckles.
"What kind of foods are yellow?" Lisa asks, watching her kids with a smile as she pushes her cart around the store. Their hair flops around their eyes, and Lisa makes a note to get them a haircut soon. Louis takes his sippy cup out of his mouth.
"Ana!" He says, his smile shining bright. Lisa's heart melts at the site of both her boys' smiles.
"You mean banana?"
"Yeah mommy bana." Louis repeats and Lisa laughs lightly knowing that is the best she's going to get. She manages to find freeze dried bananas for kids, knowing real bananas would get messy real quick, and makes her way towards the registers.
Lisa unloads the stuff onto the conveyer belt, and when the cart is empty Luca stands and reaches his arms out for his mom. Luca is more of the cuddly type, especially when he's tired, and Lisa can see by the look in his eyes that it's almost nap time for the boy.
"Mommy up." He pleads softly, and Lisa instantly lifts him up and places a kiss on the side of his head. He snuggles into her neck, humming in content when he finds the perfect spot.
"Are you tired my love?" Lisa whispers into his hair but she doesn't get an answer, she just feels her son nod his head
Lisa manages to pay with the hand not holding up Luca and she lets the bag boy load the stuff into the cart.
"Mommy we go amma's house?" Louis asks from his spot in the cart as Lisa pushes with one arm towards her car.
"You two munchkins are going to Grandma's house. Mama and I have to go somewhere else tonight." Lisa answers as she buckles Luca into his seat. Luca puckers his lips asking for a kiss and Lisa does, but she doesn't stop at one, and soon she is attacking his face with kisses. Luca's laugh fills the car.
"Mommy!" He squeals and Lisa stops to pull away.
"I love you baby." She says with one final kiss to his cheek.
"Love mommy." Lisa leans out of the car and grabs Louis from the cart, tossing him in the air. Louis squeals with laughter.
"Again!" He demands.
"No sorry baby, another time I promise." Lisa tells her youngest as she leans to put him in his car seat.
"Kiss mama!" Louis demands, and Lisa happily obliges.
"I love you." Lisa tells Louis just like she did with Luca and pecks him on the check.
"Love youu!" Louis exclaims, kicking his feet as Lisa moves around to load the groceries in the trunk. After filling the car she heads back home, where hopefully Jennie is home from work. Saturdays and Sundays are normally spent as a family, but Jennie had meetings at her university today, leaving Lisa alone with the twins all day.
Not that anything was wrong with that, she loves every second she gets to spend with her kids, she just likes having Jennie there too.
She pulls into the driveway, happy to see Jennie's white sedan there.
