As we slammed the door in Aryan's face, the three of us burst into uncontrollable laughter. Vennala, always the goofball, rolled off the couch, clutching her stomach as she giggled, which set Tara and me into another fit of laughter. The harder we laughed, the louder Vennala became until her laughter echoed through the room. Tears welled up in our eyes from laughing so much, and by the time we were done, our stomachs were aching.
"You did a great job, Vennala!" Tara gasped, trying to catch her breath.
I nodded, still wiping the tears from my eyes. "Yeah, seriously. That was epic!"
Vennala, in her dramatic fashion, gave us a theatrical bow like she had just performed in some grand comedy show.
"I'm craving chocolate cake, idiots," I said out of nowhere, my mind suddenly drifting to dessert as I recovered from the laughter.
Vennala, still lying on the floor, mumbled lazily, "Then go buy one, idiot."
"Yeah, get one for me too, Nahii," Tara chimed in from her spot, casually.
"I want a fresh cake!" I exclaimed, standing up with determination. "I'm so sick of staring at this laptop all day. If I sit here for another minute, I swear I'll go crazy. Let's bake one ourselves!"
I closed my laptop with finality and headed to the kitchen, expecting the girls to follow me. But when I looked back, no one was behind me.
"Seriously? This is disrespectful," I muttered under my breath.
Determined to make them move, I marched back to the balcony where Vennala and Tara had planted themselves like lazy lumps. Without warning, I gave each of them a light slap on the head and forced their laptops to be closed .
"Hey!" Tara protested, glaring at me. "At least let me shut it down properly, you maniac!"
"Then do it fast!" I yelled, getting right up in her face, but Vennala only giggled from her spot.
Tara and I both turned to glare at her, but she shrugged innocently. "What? It's funny!"
Rolling my eyes, I flipped my hair dramatically. "Come on, girls. Follow me!" I commanded like a queen leading her subjects.
They sighed but eventually followed me into the kitchen. Together, we whipped up a batch of chocolate cake, adding extra chocolate and colorful sprinkles just for fun. By the time we were done, we had devoured the entire thing, leaving us stuffed and utterly content.
"Chocolate is literally peace," I said as we all slumped down, our bellies full.
The next morning, we were back to our usual routine. After breakfast, Vennala and I were stuck washing the massive pile of utensils from yesterday's baking adventure.
