Fire burned my fingertips, my eyes did not dare not look at the destruction they have caused. My world, the one I had grown to love, flew away in the form of ash. No, not ash, bits of crushed ice, melting into a river of forgotten memories.
"No... Come back!" I screamed. "Please!- Don't go!" The river made off with my childhood. In the water I could see a distinct feature; Silver white hair singing in the moonlight and turquoise blue eyes that were breaking with sorrow. A name floated to corners of my lips... "Toshiro..."
"Ah!-" Blue covers, and blue curtains hanging in the window. No ice. No river.
Cold sweat dripped down my face. I look around me and I see the covers of my bed and my clothes are soaked to the core. Black threads stick to me, some getting in my eyes. Moving the hair to the side, I get up and head to the bathroom and wash my face. Blank violet eyes stare stare at shaken form.
What is happening to me? Have I gone mad? Should I... Clearing my mind I called to him, knowing he would either magically show up or respond in my head.
Toshiro?... No answer. Toshiro? Please, I need you, Toshiro!...
A streak of cold wet tears rolled down my cheek. My body started having a mind of it's own. Hidden under the blankets, the room burned. I was wrapped up so tightly I could barely breathe, my room was a freezer. Sitting and waiting with meat covered in frost. But then something changed.
Someone left the door open, releasing the cold and replacing it with warm, hot air. Warmth slowly wrapped around my body, taking away the shakyness of the cold. The heat got stronger. Gasping for breath, I flicked the blacket. I was met with turquoise blue lights and silver white hair that shined in the moonlight. It spoke.
"Kairi..." My eyes tried to process what was before me. Turquoise blue eyes, silver white hair, moonlike fair skin.
"T-Toshiro..." Turquoise, silver, moonlike. I doubled checked all the features again. Turquoise, silver... "Toshiro!!" his body hovered above me like a protective cage, a barrier to protect a priceless object. Before he could respond my arms wrapped around his body as tears stained his chest.
The blankets held their ground as a barrier between us. I didn't care. I cried and cried into his chest. His arms wrapped around me, making me feel warm and safe. The blankets made it uncomfortable to stay safe in his arms. As if reading my mind he lowered me down gently on the bed. One arm snaked around my back, the other delicately moved the blanket just enough for him to squeeze in next to me.
Snaked behind me, he pulled me closer to him. Brushing flakes of hair from my face and twirling it around his fingers. His eyes spoke to me, as if he was trying to say, I'm here. My cheeks felt warm, I looked down to hide my blush. His hand left my hair and turned their attention to my face. Delicately stroking my cheek, lifting my chin to his gaze. No words were spoken. Our words were translated threw our eyes and bodies. "Don't hide your face. You're beautiful." he said."Okay." was all I could manage back. Our lips touched and electricity sparked our movements.
I... remember. I remember, when we were kids, how warm his smile was, and how safe I felt in his arms. I remember the trees, and the beautiful lake near our village. I remember Momo, before she went off to the soul reaper academy. How we used to play with each other's hair. I remember how the three of us were the closest friends, inseparable. I remember...
"Agh..." Pain shot through my skull. My ears, ringing bells of pain, burned like fire. I curled into a fetal position, and passed out. The battle has begun.
7 Days Left...
