I stared at him, doumbfounded. I couldn't believe it. He was inside my head. Inside it. I tried again, just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. I focused my mind direct to him.

Toshiro? I waited patiently for his response, eager to see if it worked.

"Yes, Kairi, I hear you." he said as he looked down and smiled at me. A gentle smile.

"I don't understand," I stared up at him puzzled. "How is this happening?"

"Your mother had the same abilities. To be able to get in people's minds. You must have inherited it from her." he stated. At that moment, a piercing pain shot through my head.

"Ah..." I leaned my head against his chest, shutting my eyes tight and grasping onto his plain black shirt.

The rest of the jorney home went by quickly, seeing that Toshiro ran the rest of the way after that. Holding me close and keeping me safe in his arms. When I woke up, I was in my bedroom. The window was open, letting in the cool night air, as the moon hanged in the night sky. My violet sheets were neatly folded up to my chest and my boots were on the floor by bed. I sat up, looking at the setting before me. Then it hit me. Toshiro...

I looked at the clock. 8:00 PM Nobody is asleep yet... I climbed out of bed. I changed out of my clothes into some comfy pj's. And dug in the back of my closet. I pulled out the big black box. It never ceased to amaze me, how big and heavy this thing really was.

I opened the box and grabbed the first thing I saw. Father's flute. I picked up the delicate case and sat it on my lap. Gently peeling the case open, letting the moon's light shine off of it. I put it together and blew.

The first few notes were shaky, but soon the shakiness faded and the delicate sound filled the house.

Never let anyone stop you,
Never let them see you cry,
Never run away and hide...

Tomorrow is a new day,
Tomorrow is a the start,
Of a new time, a new era,
A new life...

Let them hate and scorn,
Let them be cruel,
Because one day, You will be the one who will rule,
You will be the one who will shine like the stars...

I sang to myself in my head the lyrics to this tune. I think father sang it to me as a child, but I don't remember. Soon everything got woozy, so I put the delicate flute, in its delicate case, and back in the box. I laid down in bed, and drifted into peaceful sleep.

11 Days Left...

I felt a pain in my right arm. A shocking, piercing pain, that could only be done by one thing. A needle. My eyes shot open.

The room was brightly lit, with a scorching light that blinded me for a moment. I looked around and saw paramedics and Margaret standing around my bed. I looked down at my impaled arm. Horror struck my nerves.

"Get it out." I spatted at the nurse, "Get it out." My own voice, angry and edgy, sent shivers down my spine.

Without a second thought, the blonde and beautiful, paramedic, pulled the needle out of my arm and wrapped it tightly.

"Better?" She asked. Her voice was soft and understanding.

"Better." I breathed. A smile formed on her slim lips. I turned to a horrified Margaret.

"Margaret, what's going on?!"

"Oh my gosh," she had the most strange look on her face. As if she had just seen a ghost, or the rising of the dead.
