(A/N I wrote this for my creative writing class and thought I'd share it.)

Lohse wandered through the field, a soft smile on her face as the dark of night embraced her and cool wind brushed against her skin, causing goosebumps to perk up. The light brush of tall grass grazed her calves as she walked towards the man in the distance, her Killian, with his dark curls and even darker eyes. It was not uncommon for them to meet at the dead of night, they couldn't meet during the day after all, her mother would be furious. It didn't matter that Lohse was an adult, her mother would berate her into the dawn if she knew of Killian. However, when they only meet at night, she can't help but fear he is a ghost that could disappear into the shadows at any moment.

Killian's eyes caught on waves of fire hair that flowed in wild curls behind Lohse as she approached, causing a beaming smile to spread across his lips. He loved how the moonlight made her look like an angel. "Hi." She greeted softly as she stopped before him, silver eyes glinting as she met his gaze with the softest of smiles. One word, two letters– his heart was pounding in his chest as the soft breeze of her voice brushed over him. She looks up at him so gently and with so much love that his heart skips a beat even as he leans forward and captures her lips in a gentle kiss. She presses up on her toes as she returns the gesture just as softly. He was no ghost. She concluded as her hand came to rest on his smooth cheek. His eyes shine as he pulls back before he presses his lips to her forehead.

My Lohse. His thoughts echoed as he pulled back to meet her gaze again, "Hi." She giggled at his simple greeting before he continued, "I have a surprise for you."

"Oh, really?" She prompted, looking up curiously, "What is it?"

He merely grinned before sweeping her up into his arms, making her squeal in surprise as he carried her with one arm tucked under her knees and one arm supporting her back. "Close your eyes." He told her softly. She let out a small laugh before letting her eyes flutter shut as she wraps her arms around his neck, trusting him not to drop her. He didn't carry her far, but she could almost feel the excitement radiating from him. A few moments later, she was gently being set down onto a smooth fabric-covered surface with the light scent of bread, apples, and honey in the air before he instructed, "Open."

Lohse opens her eyes to look around at the small picnic he set up, a sort of charcuterie arrangement before her. She beams up at him, heart fluttering from the gesture as breaths, "Killian."

He gently draped his cloak over shoulders before he sat down beside her, asking, "Do you like it?"

"I love it." She answered.

"I'm happy to hear that." Killian replied, rubbing the back of his neck almost sheepishly as a light blush painted across his cheeks, "It would have been a real shame if I had made an ass out of myself."

"You could never," Lohse assured before a glint of mischief filled her eyes, "At least not with me."

"You are too kind, my love." Killian responded, a touch of sarcasm in his voice.

After that, they fell into silence as they partook in the breads and fruits and cheeses that surrounded them. Even when they were full, the lingering taste of honey and cheese stayed on their tongues as they looked at the stars above them. "Killian," She whispered, leaning her head against his shoulder and her fingers lightly interlacing with his before asking just as gently, "What is your favorite color?" It was such a simple question, but she realized it was one she didn't know the answer to.

When he didn't reply immediately, Lohse turned her gaze to him, taking in the silhouette of his profile. He was so beautiful. Her heart pounded even as he did something as simple as staring at the sky, where a sliver of the moon broke through the navy clouds, "Silver."

"Like the stars?"

Like the color of your skin in the moonlight, like the shine of your eyes, the hope you radiate. He smiled lightly, meeting her silver eyes before agreeing, "Yeah, like the stars."
