Nick's
I jump down the stairs with my basket.
"Where are you going?" Luke stops me, Jess looking over.
"To the basket bidding."
"Again?" He complains.
"Uh yeah. I got the perfect picnic date with my perfect boyfriend," I smirk.

"Eugh," he groans and rolls his eyes, going back to work.
I look over at Jess who's no longer in the diner anymore.

I arrive at the park and Taylor's being the auctioneer.
"Sold to the young man with five dollars!"
Poor Lane. Her own cousin buying her basket instead of a cute boy.

I wave over to Lorelai and Rory as mine is up next, smirking over to Mikey who's next to Dean.
"Let's start the bidding at...$3."
"Hey!"
"$5" thank you, I smugly look over to my boyfriend who catches my gaze.

"$5. Do I hear $10?"
"$10."
Hmm?
We all turn to the source of the voice. Jess. What's he doing here?

"I have $10. Do I hear $15?"
"$20!"
I scoff. He's not even letting Mikey a chance to speak.
"$20. Do I hear $25?"
"$30!" Let's go Mikey!

"Alright, you boys don't seem to understand the way this works."
Is Taylor insulting my basket?
"$40!"
"$50!"
"Excuse me, have either of you noticed how tiny this thing is?"
"Quit insulting my basket!" I shout.

"$80!"
What does this boy even want with my basket?!
"We're not talking sense here."
"$95!"
Ok, Mikey may have more money than most of us but he doesn't have a lot of cash and most of it is his parents.

"Sold! To the nice young hoodlum in the back for $95."
With a smug smirk, Jess walks up and takes my precious Mikey picnic basket.

Mikey and I go off to the corner.
"He was messing with me and it's the last time, I swear to God!"

"Mikey, calm down," I place my hand on his arms.
"He's trying to make me crazy."
"Don't let him. Ignore him."

"Of all the nutty, barn-raising shindigs this town can cook up. This one wasn't half bad."

I turn towards Jess with a glare and a sarcastic smile, "glad you enjoyed."
"That I did. Shall we?"
" 'Shall we' what?"
I question, now standing in between Jess and Mikey.
"Shall we go?"
"Go where?"
"Go eat."

"Excuse me?" Mikey interjects.

"The person who buys the basket wins the company of the person who makes the basket for lunch. Basket," Jess lifts the basket,  "basket maker," he points at me,
"Guy who didn't bring enough money," he points at Mikey.

"Bye Jess," I glare at him.
"As soon as you're ready," he smirks.
I squint my eyes at him.
"You should go," Mikey sighs. I turn around and face him, disbelief written on my face.

"What?"
"The sooner you get this over with the taste you'll get away from him, right?"

"Yeah, I guess," I mutter.
"So, then, shall we?"
Jess lifts the basket as Mikey walks away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Surprisingly, this bridge is one of my favorite places," I inform, sitting down next to Jess on the bridge for our picnic.
"Me as well."
"Really?" I scoff.
"It's got some good memories. See right over there?" He points, I nod.
"That's where Luke pushed me in."
"Huh, copycat."
" 'copycat'?"
"That's where I pushed Luke in," I say bluntly.
He laughs.
"Why'd you outbid Mikey?" I narrow my eyes at him.
He sighs, "meant to bug you guys, then you got mad and it was funny."
"It was not funny," I deadpanned.
"Can we start our picnic?" He changes the conversation.
I gesture to the basket and he opens it, keeping his eyes on mine.
"Wow, you went all out," he says sarcastically. I smile in response.
"What is this?" He opens a Tupperware that holds a slice of avocado toast with muffin bits on top.
"Avocado toast with muffin sprinkled on top."
He makes a grossed out look.
"Mikey would've enjoyed it," I huff. He side glances at me and takes a bite. With a hard swallow, he finishes the whole thing.
"That was awful," he coughs.
"Mikey would've thrown that in the pond," I laugh.
The face he's making must be captured.
I take out my camera and take a quick pic.
"What was that?"
"A picture."
"For?"
"Memories," I shrug, going to put the camera away.
"Wait," he grabs the camera, standing up.
"Hey!" I stand as well, lunging for my camera.
"If you're going to make memories, might as well make them worth while," he takes a picture.
"Jeeeeeesss."
"Niiiiickk."
I reach my hand out, palm up.
"I'll give it back if you tell me your favorite song."
"My Eyes Adored You by Frankie Valli," I answer with no hesitation.
"Really?" He has a shocked look, placing the camera in my hand.
"Yup," gratefully taking what's mine and putting in my pocket.
"Never took you for a Frankie Valli and The Four Seaons kind of gal."
"Yeah, well, never took you for a camera thief but we aren't always right are we?" I sit down, him joining.
"I like Sherry."
I turn to him in disbelief.
"I know you may be thinking that I like it since it's their most first viral song but I don't. It's just the high pitch of a man's voice can be so fascinating," he adds dramatically.
I laugh at his antics, he joins me.
"We should probably get going," I stand.
"Yeah," he does as well and I start walking.
Jess's
Nick starts walking away, I lean down to pick up the basket but I notice something as well.
Her necklace.
I look up and see her still walking.
I pick it up and put it in my pocket.
