Imogen Seagrave stood at the edge of the platform, if she stood even a few steps further, she would've fallen onto the track. It was January, the new year had begun, and the usual suffocating Christmas with her family had passed. As always, Christmas lunch was filled with talk about pure-blood superiority along with insults towards people who had less than perfect blood. She could tell the conversation was directed at her— especially as she hung out with muggle-borns and half-bloods ❨ which her family was quite against.

This year it had been harder, the war was starting to get bigger, so her family was stricter, her parents wanted her to become more loyal to the dark lord— which was the opposite of what she wanted to do. Imogen felt free knowing the holidays were over, she was able to return to her friends. Though she didn't doubt she would receive howlers for hanging out with Blood traitors like Sirius Black and her old childhood friends James Potter and Peter Pettigrew and also hanging out with Half Bloods like Remus Lupin. Along with that, she also mainly hung around the muggle-borns Mary MacDonald and Lily Evans ❨ which made her parents very disappointed.

Imogen clutched the handle of her trunk ❨ which was stuffed with the many things she needed for the holidays. ❩, she gripped it tighter, feeling longer knuckles become white. Imogen was waiting for the Hogwarts Express to arrive. She couldn't see any of her friends on the platform, though the girl dismissed it as the station was long and was packed with people going back to the school. In the distance, Imogen's eyes landed on the scarlet-coloured train that emerged from the mist. Its engine hissed as it hastily came closer. Imogen could hear the chatter of students, some had already changed into their robes ❨ though Imogen chose to change on the train— she preferred her own clothes.

As the train came to a stop, Imogen could feel the crowd growing larger and pushing her closer to the very edge, lucky enough for her, it meant she could get on the train and claim a compartment easier. The girl took one step forward onto the train before a voice called out to her, "Imogen!" James called over the chatter of the crowd. The girl recognised the voice almost immediately, she had been friends with both James Potter and Peter Pettigrew since before the three attended Hogwarts. As the years went by, their small friendship remained, though Imogen's parents opinions on blood status grew, and they no longer wanted Imogen to be friends with the blood-traitor boys. Despite that, Imogen stuck by them and remained their friend, even after moving away from the two.
