Bella's POV
Abel was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching me move around the room, packing up a few things before we had to leave. My flight to New York was in a few hours.
I sighed, trying to break the silence. "I have this show in New York as soon as I get back." I said as I rambled through my carry on bag. "Fashion Week starts in a few days, and I'm not even remotely ready for it."
Abel nodded, leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "I've got a lot of studio work waiting for me too when I get back to LA. It's gonna be hectic for both of us."
"Oh, right" I paused, standing in front of my suitcase, my fingers hesitating over the zipper. "You're in LA" I admitted quietly, glancing over at him.
"Yea, what's wrong?" he asked, his brows knitting together as he met my eyes.
I zipped up, exhaling slowly. "Oh, you know. The distance. The time zones. New York and LA aren't exactly next door."
Abel stood up and wrapped his arms around me. "Well, I meant what I said yesterday about making time." He kissed my neck. "Just when you get to New York, text me when you've settled in, alright? I want to know you're safe."
I looked at him and nodded, feeling a little more reassured. "Okay. I will." We shared a little kissed. "I love you" he said before kissing me again. "I love you too."
---
The flight back to New York felt different, as if I was leaving a part of myself behind on that island with Abel. The vacation was over and now it was time to return to reality.
Abel❤️
Hey, just landed.Glad you made it there safely. Missing you already.❤️
Aw, I miss you too. ❤️
As I navigated through the crowded terminal, I finally spotted Gigi, my sister, waiting by the baggage claim. She stood with her arms crossed, a curious smile on her face. The moment I approached her, she raised an eyebrow, eager for the details.
"Well? How was your trip?" she asked, leaning in slightly, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Did you get some sun, or did you just lounge around like a potato?"
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Oh, you know, just a little bit of both." We both laughed.
We grabbed my bags and went to a nearby restaurant to eat and catch up.
"But no, really! Tell me everything." Gigi said after taking a sip of her soda.
I hesitated, my heart fluttering at the thought of Abel. I didn't want to come off too giddy, but I couldn't help it. "Um... actually, I met someone."
Her eyes widened and eyebrows frowned "Really!? Who?"
I took a deep breath, excitement bubbling up inside me. "His name is Abel."
Her looked to the side, trying to remember him. "Abel? As in Abel Tesfaye?!"
"Yeah, that one," I said, trying to keep my cool but failing miserably.
Gigi's mouth dropped opened in shock. "No way! How did that happen? Did y'all plan the trip together!?"
"That's the thing" I laughed, recalling the way our paths had crossed. "It was totally random. I was at this resort, and he was there too. We kept running into each other."
"Running into each other? How small was that resort?" Gigi teased.
I laughed "Not that small and we just ended up hanging out a lot. We went zip-lining, swimming in a cenote, and..." I paused, biting my lip to suppress a smile. "Went on a little date or whatever."
Her smiled widened. "Omggg! So are you guys like dating!?"
"Well... no. We haven't made things official. We're just figuring things out since we're long distance at the moment."
"Oh, really?" Her face turned into curiosity. "Where he at?
"He in LA for studio sessions and all." I looked down "I actually don't know when i'm even gonna see him again."
Gigi's face turned sympathetic and reached out to rub my hand. "Y'all will soon. As long as y'all two stay in touch, y'all should be fine."
"Yea... I do have better things to worry about." I said in a light tone.
"That's rightt!" Gigi said in a singing song. "New York Fashion Week!"
