Mirio had been sent to school while their Father was out working, their Mother was a stay-at-home Mother so Keiko was stuck with her due to being pulled out to be home schooled, so they could have more time for practice.
'Luckily' for Keiko, her Mother used to work as a choreographer. So here they were, teaching a four-year-old how to dance. They did it for hours, her Mother yelled at her whenever she made a wrong step or slipped. Keiko didn't understand why she had to do this, but she did it anyway, wanting to make her Mom happy.
They trained the rest of the day until the boys got home, Keiko was in the shower when they arrived. Having been covered in sweat and some spit moments earlier. Her knees had been scraped by the hard wooden floor so many time when she fell it stung a lot. One was raw but her Mother didn't care.
She told Keiko to put on leggings to hide it from Mirio and her Father, she said so she wouldn't 'worry' them. Little did she know that was a lie. And that she was overtraining her in secret.
Once she got dressed in a brown skirt, black leggings, and a shirt borrowed from Mirio she stepped out, laying on the couch exhausted from the earlier events. Mirio wanted to play but then he realized how tired she was, she looked like she was about to fall asleep from exhaustion. And he got to wondering what the two had been doing all day.
Instead, he sat next to her on the couch, laying her head on his shoulder and covering them in their favorite blanket, turning on her favorite cartoon as she slept on his shoulder, arms wrapped around each other.
He softly shook her awake for dinner, she yawned softly, rubbing her eyes and following her older brother to the dining room. Getting into their seats they said a prayer before the family started eating the delicious dinner.
Keiko reached to get a second plate after she had finished her first, she was starving. She was barely given anything for lunch and had no breakfast, so naturally she wanted more. But her hand was smacked away, by her Mother.
"You've had enough, Keiko. Go get ready for bed, and practice your routine," She whispered the last part in her ear, Keiko hesitated, her stomach churning in hunger.
"Can I have one more plate...?-"
"No, bed, now," Her Mother growled back at her, Keiko frowned and plopped out of her chair, sadly walking to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Once she did that she went to her room, and as her Mother had asked, she practiced her routine. She failed on a few steps, but for some reason she felt as if her Mother would know if she had missed a few, even if she wasn't in the room. And she was scared of that, so she did it over and over until she got it right. Once she finished she got into bed, her back turned to Mirio's bed and faced the wall.
She felt exhausted but was unable to sleep, so she just stared at the wall, not really thinking about anything just observing it.
The door creaked open, light peaking through into the dark room before closing. She assumed Mirio thought she was asleep since he just went to his own bed without saying anything. She turned around and carefully got out of her bed, her feet softly hitting the ground.
