Amayas POV

I woke up to the sunlight streaming into my eyes, blinding me as I tried to shield myself from it. The moment I opened my eyes, a wave of dizziness washed over me, and a migraine surged through my head, causing me to groan as I clutched my temples.

Once I managed to open my eyes, I glanced to my side and saw Amelia sleeping peacefully beside me. We were both still in our clothes from the day before, wrapped in blankets. My mind began to race, trying to piece together how we had made it home and what exactly had happened.

To my frustration, I couldn't remember a single thing. I usually don't drink to the point of forgetting, but I was having fun, and for once, I let myself loosen up. I think part of me felt safe knowing nothing would happen while I was with this particular group of people.

All my life, I've been terrified of failure or making mistakes. Ever since I graduated, I've told myself to stay focused on my work, never really allowing myself to have fun. Amelia always told me to loosen up, but I never did—until last night. I've been so caught up in not messing up at work and in life that I forgot there's more to life than just success. Living and enjoying the moment is important, too.

I carefully slipped off the couch, trying not to wake Amelia, and headed to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.

I mulled over yesterday's events, but no clear answers surfaced as I finished my glass of water. The faint sound of rustling from the living room told me Amelia was waking up, so I grabbed a glass of water for her and made my way back to her.

I walked into the living room and found Amelia sitting up, rubbing her eyes. I handed her the glass of water, and she gave me a grateful nod before taking a sip.

"Morning," I said, sitting down beside her. "Do you remember anything from yesterday?" I watched her as I waited for an answer.

"Honestly, I don't remember anything," she replied, and I nodded in understanding.

"You know," I said cautiously, "I hope we didn't do anything stupid while we were drunk. I don't think I could look at Alex the same way again."

Amelia chuckled lightly, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I think we managed to keep it together. At least, I hope we did."

I sighed, relief washing over me, but a lingering unease remained. "Yeah, but with our luck, we probably did something embarrassing."

She leaned back against the couch, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "Maybe it's best we don't dwell on it. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss."

"True," I agreed, though the thought of what might have happened nagged at me.

Just then, a knock at the door interrupted our conversation. "I'll get it," I told Amelia as I headed toward the door.

When I opened it, I was surprised to see a food delivery guy standing there. "Hi, how can I help you?" I asked, noticing the bag in his hand.

"I have an order for Amaya Hart," he said, looking at me expectantly.

"That's me, but I didn't order anything," I replied, confusion washing over me. However, he showed me the confirmation with my name and address, so I reluctantly took the food from his hand.

As I walked back into the living room, my phone began to ring. I quickly set the food on the table and grabbed my phone. To my surprise, it was Alexander calling.

I hesitated for a moment, staring at the screen. "It's Alex," I said, glancing at Amelia, who raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

"Answer it!" she urged, a teasing smile on her face.
