Soobin look at his dad who was standing with the others,
As the CEOs continued to lavish praise on Yeonjun, Soobin's curiosity turned into confusion.
"Father, why are they treating Yeonjun like this?" Soobin asked, tugging on his father's sleeve.
Mr. Choi Kyung-ho's smile hinted at a story. "Well, Soobin, Yeonjun's family—"
Before he could finish, Taehyun appeared beside them, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Looks like Yeonjun's the star of the show," Taehyun said, nodding toward the crowd.
Soobin's father began again, "As I was saying, Yeonjun's family—"
Just then, a commanding voice boomed through the hall.
"Yeonjun! It's been too long!"
The room fell silent as Mr. Choi Yeon-woo, Yeonjun's father, walked toward them. His presence showed his authority and power.
Yeonjun's expression changed from happy to neutral.
He didn't show any interest to answer him. Just stare with his usual expressions.
Mr. Choi Yeon-woo's gaze swept the room, his eyes stopped at Soobin and his father before returning to Yeonjun.
"I see you're making connections," Mr. Choi Yeon-woo said, his tone laced with sarcasm
Yeonjun's smile seemed forced.
His kept looking away not making any eye contact with his father.
Soobin's father cleared his throat.
"So, Yeon-woo, it's been a while," Soobin's father said, attempting to ease the tension.
Mr. Choi Yeon-woo's gaze remained fixed on Yeonjun.
"Kyung-ho, I see you're still mentoring talented young minds."
Yeonjun look at his father with his pale eyes.
Taehyun slowly moved closer to Soobin, his expression showed his interest.
"Soobin, why don't you go mingle?" his father suggested, nodding toward the crowd.
But Soobin's attention remained on Yeonjun and his father.
Mr. Choi Yeon-woo's voice took on a slightly sharper tone.
"Yeonjun, we need to discuss the Lee Corporation deal. Your... distractions aren't helping."
Yeonjun's jaw clenched.
"I'll handle it, Mr. Choi", he said, his voice firm.
The people around started to move ahead with their conversations.
Yeonjun's eyes locked onto Soobin's,
He smiled understanding the confusion on his face.
Soobin remained still at his place.
Mr. Choi Yeon-woo followed Yeonjun's gaze. "Ah, Soobin. I almost forgot. You're Kyung-ho's son.
You're growing up to be quite the charming young man."
Soobin nodded politely.
Yeonjun's gaze still held Soobin's, a silent message passing between them.
Taehyun leaned in, whispering.to Soobin: "why is the atmosphere so tense for no reason?"
Mr. Park intervened, "Yeon-woo, shall we discuss the Lee Corporation deal privately?"
Mr. Choi Yeon-woo nodded curtly. "Very well. Yeonjun, let's talk."
Yeonjun's eyes broke away from Soobin's, As he followed his father, Soobin felt a pang of concern.
"Father, what's going on?" Soobin asked, his voice low.
Mr. Choi Kyung-ho's expression turned serious.
"It's complicated, Soobin. Yeonjun's father... And his past is quite delicate."
Taehyun chimed in, "Delicate? That's so less to name the situation."
Soobin's father shot Taehyun a warning glance.
Taehyun shut up his mouth, looking away.

There was some time left to start the speech ceremony.
Soobin's father, led them to a quieter corner, his expression neutral.
"Yeonjun's past is... complicated," he began. "His mother passed away when he was just five, and his brother, Beomgyu, was three."
Taehyun's eyes widened. "That's tragic."
Mr. Choi Kyung-ho nodded. "Yeonjun's father, Yeon-woo, remarried soon after. The woman he married was... already carrying his child."
Soobin's eyes widened in shock. "His stepbrother?"
"Yes. Yeonjun discovered his father's deeds, when he was older. The pain and betrayal... it shaped him."
Taehyun's voice was low. "What about his stepmother?"
Mr. Choi Kyung-ho's face darkened. "She was cruel lady. She wanted that all benefits and luxury should be owned by her own son.
That the reason why Yeonjun after his graduation, severed ties with his family, sending Beomgyu to study abroad."
Soobin's heart ached for Yeonjun.
"And what about these people who are praising him?" Soobin asked.
Mr. Choi Kyung-ho smiled. "Yeonjun's exceptional business mentorship have made many of their sons successful tycoons. They respect and admire him, almost like a son."
Taehyun nodded. "No wonder they're fawning over him."
Mr. Choi Kyung-ho's eyes turned to Soobin: "Yeonjun must be an inspiration, for you soobin."
Soobin felt a surge of admiration and compassion for Yeonjun.
He looked at hall where Yeonjun was coming back while his expression showed strong boldness.
He sat on one of the chair.
All alone.
As Yeonjun sat alone, his expression exuded confidence, but Soobin sensed a hint of vulnerability.

Just then, a lively figure burst into the hall, weaving through the crowd.
"Hyung!" Beomgyu exclaimed, rushing toward Yeonjun.
Yeonjun's face transformed, a warm smile spreading.
Beomgyu was a stark contrast to Yeonjun's polished and calm attitude.
His bright smile and energetic gestures infectious.
"Hello CEO Kim! CEO Lee!" Beomgyu greeted the tycoons, shaking hands.
The CEOs chuckled, patting Beomgyu's back.
"Beomgyu, you're growing up to be quite the charmer," CEO Kim said.
Yeonjun's eyes shone with pride.
Soobin watched, fascinated by the scene.
Beomgyu turned to Yeonjun, concern etched on his face.
"Hyung, I heard father is here. Are you okay? Did he say something?"
Yeonjun's expression turned reassuring.
"I'm fine, Beomgyu. Don't worry."
All this was happening when Taehyun return from the washroom.
As he looked in front,
He halted looking at someone who seemed familiar.
His eyes widen and his heart raced at the greatest pace.
