Friday: 10:15
I smile as I walk into the room full of students who had passed the exam with Kami, Bakugo and Kiri. I look around in an attempt to find any of our classmates and see Todoroki, Momo, Shoji, Tsu and Jiro. Immediately Kiri and Kami run over to socialise and I turn to Bakugo with an eyebrow raised. "No. I am not talking to those extras." He grunts as he crosses his arms and looks away from me.
"Katsuki." I say and he hesitates before facing me again, he huffs out a breath of air, "...Yeah?" he mumbles as he looks at the ground. "We're going to talk to them. It's not like it's Midoriya, plus, you said you don't mind Jiro" I say and he makes eye contact, "Do I have to talk to them?" he asks softly, "No, just come over and hang out. Okay?" I ask and he nods, grabbing my hand.
We walk over to our classmates as we sweat drop when it is announced that there are only 9 spots left, 9 of our classmates still in the arena. I cross my fingers and shift back and forth on my heels, suddenly the examination ends, 9 people passing at once. I snap my head to the entrance and exhale when I notice the rest of the class entering.
Suddenly our attention is called to the TV and I turn my head to see it projecting the test arena. I stand confused when suddenly all the buildings are blown up, I subconsciously squeeze Bakugo's hand as I watch the scene unfold in shock. "Uh- Ow-" Bakugo says dryly and I look to our hands to see that I was crushing his. I rip my hand away immediately, "Sorry!!" I say and he rolls his eyes, taking my hand back and letting our intertwined hands fall between us.
It is then explained that we will be undergoing a rescue exercise for the second part of the exam, which we will have to save REAL people during, who are all actors thankfully. Our class disperses to eat and interact with each other before the next part of the exam, Kiri, Bakugo and I near the food table. Students from Shiketsu then approached us. "Bakugo, I think you met Shishikura in the test." A walking hairball says, "My classmate with the flesh-holding power?" He continues. "Yeah, I took him out." Bakugo says, I whip my head in his direction, "Did you now?" I ask, annoyed. "SHUT UP!! IM TALKING" He yells and I go to launch at him but Kiri lifts me up by the back of my harness as I attempt to punch or kick Bakugo. "DONT TELL ME TO SHUT UP I WILL CALL YOUR MUM RIGHT NOW KATSUKI" I yell.
The walking hairball then cuts me off as he rants out an apology. They then walk away and I continue to thrash at Bakugo, "KIRI LET ME AT HIM" I yell, "Calm down or I won't put you down" Kiri tells me and I grumble out of annoyance. The walls to the building then morph outwards just as it did the first time, indicating the start to our second section of the test. Kiri then gently puts me down. I run with Kiri as he mindlessly follows Bakugo, "Why are you damn extras always following me?" Bakugo yells back at us. "We just wanna" Kami and Kiri say with a stupid, shit-eating grin on their faces.
We end up far away from any other students in an empty and rocky terrain, when I begin to hear shouts, "help someone!" I look over the rock ledge im stood on and see two civilians who seem injured, around several metres bellow me. "My arm hurts really bad" The woman exclaims, "Mine too, save us!" the man next to her adds, before I can go to move to help them Bakugo yells, "SHUT UP! SAVE YOURSELF YOU WHINERS!" I ignore him and jump down to help, "I'm sorry about him, what seems to be the problem?" I ask sweetly, they tell me their story and I ask if they will be alright to walk, to which they tell me they are fine and I assist them to the first-aid station, before heading back to the trio of boys.
"Katsuki Bakugo. You can't yell at civilians who need your help when you're a hero." I scold and he scowls. For the rest of this examination, I save civilians with Kiri and Kami while Bakugo yells at them. I occasionally hear a shout or explosion from the fight nearby but remain on the outskirts looking for anyone that was left behind. Eventually the exam gets called to an end and I walk with the trio of boys towards where the rest of the examinees are stationed, in front of a large screen.
"Anyway, the list of those who passed will be displayed here in alphabetical order" Mera says. I immediately begin looking down the list for my name and sigh in relief once I spot it. I cringe when Bakugo yells which I can only assume it means he failed. I search for all of my classmates names to learn that both Bakugo and Todoroki failed. 'Todoroki failed?' I think as I begin to brainstorm any reasons he would've failed. For a second I forgot about the rabid dog that was currently losing his mind after failing. However, I am quickly reminded when I hear him threatening to murder Kami.
I put my hand on his shoulder, "Stop moping. Okay, you failed. You can't change it so just work to be better, that's all you can do now." I tell him and he stops moping and nods. Everyone looks at me like they just saw a ghost, "How did he not kill you?" Kami asks, I tilt my head to the side in confusion. Handouts consisting of a breakdown are given to us and I immediately hand mine over to Bakugo without getting the chance to look at it, knowing that he'll wanna know what my results were. Once he was finished reading it he handed it back and I skimmed over my results. I ended with 91 points.
It's then revealed that those who failed will have the opportunity to go to a three month long class and take an individual test to obtain their hero licences and I grab Bakugo's hand and give him a smile. He was obviously still upset but knowing him, pitying him won't help. It's best for me to just encourage him and tell him things straight.
We head outside and Inasa speeds over to our class, "Hey Todoroki!! see you at the special classes but nothing has changed and I still dont like you! Also (L/N)! I can't wait to see you again!" He exclaims as he runs past us to get to his class. Bakugo growls lowly at him. I look down at my hero license in silence as we walk over to our bus boarding it. I sit down and still havent looked up. "Oi. Whats your problem?" Bakugo asks as he sits next to me. I look over at him and then back to the hero license in my hands, "It's nothing" I say and he scoffs. "Yeah, funny. What?" He asks again and I sigh knowing I won't get out of this.
"I'm just worried I won't ever be able to show my dad that I got a hero license" I say quietly and his eyes soften, "You still havent heard from the hospital?" He asks and I nod. He then grabs my hand, intertwining our fingers. He doesn't ask any more questions for the rest of the trip, knowing that I don't wanna talk.
Later that night I get woken up by Bakugo leaving my room, "Suki?" I ask, my voice strained and croaky. "Go back to bed, dont worry" He tells me and I furrow my eyebrows but listen. The next time I wake up, he still wasn't back. I check the time to see it was 06:40. I swing the blankets off me and throw my legs over the side of my bed before walking towards Bakugo's room.
Once I get there I knock and exhale out of relief when the door opens. Less relieved when I notice the bruising on his face and body paired with bandages and scratches. My eyes widen and I push him back into his room, "What happened?" I ask as we sit on his bed and I look over his injuries. "I went to go fight Deku." I let out a long sigh before looking up at him, "Your reason?" I ask and he looks unsure for a second. "I uhh found out the truth about his quirk." He tells me and I freeze.
"What?" I ask and he looks down, "I dont know what you know and you dont know what I know so I think its best we keep to ourselves about this to make sure we dont spread any new information." He tells me and I nod before swatting the back of his head. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" I yell and he rolls his eyes, "...I wasn't." he says. "I can tell." I sigh before excusing myself to go to the gym, telling him I'll be right over if he needs me.
