It was dark. At the street were a few, weak streetlights but not enough to see clear. I felt the warm, sweet, soft hand of my daughter safe in mine. We passed the church and a split second we stopped so I could take a look at the time 23:45. We had 15 minutes to come home, 15 minutes until I my daughter was no longer mine. I knew it was hopeless, we would never make it. It was at least 23 minutes to reach our street, and then 2 minutes to get to the door. But with that stupid, old, rusty lock we would never make it in time. I wanted to safe her, but I knew it was a lost cause.

I grabbed my daughters hand and started to walk faster. I knew I walked way too fast for her but my heart couldn't handle it. "Mom please. Stop. Don't do this." I stopped and looked my daughter in the eye. "Mom, I want this. I want to go to Haven. And besides, there is nothing you can do. It's happening. If you look behind me you can see it, it's coming." I looked behind her, and indeed. I saw it coming, it flew behind the church, the red, dark, horrifying flames of the fire. Then, in less than a second, it changed. A horse, made out of hot, flickering flames stopped before us. My sweet kid reached her hand to touch his nose. I wanted to stop her, protect her from the hell but it was too late. I waited for her scream of pain but the only thing I heard was the silence of the night. "Mom..." I felt her hand touching mine. It was hot from the flames that had surrounded her fingers while touching his nose and manes. "Mom" she said again. I looked at her, my beautiful babygirl. "Yes darling?" I knew what she was going to say but I didn't want to hear it. "I'm gonna go. I'm sorry. But I'm 14 now and all my friends are already there. I've waited my whole life and finally I'm old enough." Tears dropped down my cheeks but in that moment it didn't matter. I looked at the clock, 23:57. "Valery please, don't. You can stay with me, we can go on vacations, ate ice cream, watch scary movies! We can do whatever you want. But please just stay and don't go there." I thought of grabbing her and just run away so she could stay with me forever but I knew it was hopeless. I knew it would catch us if I tried. "Mom, I'm going. Whenever you like it or not. I know it was your worst nightmare when you lived there, but you owe that really to yourself." Her little arms wrapped around me, trying to hug me and then she let go. My knees felt weak and it took all my effort to stay standing. One last time I looked at her, she was looking at the clock, waiting for the bels to ring and the moment she could leave. Ding, ding,... 12 clock beats...
