Mask Off

— STACEY'S POV —

I spent the whole week wondering who anonymous is.. It's been almost a year since the first time I encountered them through message. And why are they doing this to me?

I was chilling in the field for soccer while Jhoanna was in class. I watched Jhoanna's friend Colet play while eating my ice cream. Maloi kept bugging me how of handsome Colet was.

Maloi : Teh! Ang yummy ni Colet! She shrieked.

Stacey : Teh.. Respeto sa nakain.. I said while staring at my ice cream blankly.

Maloi : Beh, siguro masarap yan sa- I cut her off.

Stacey : I slapped Maloi's shoulder. Konti nalang matatakip ko na yang bunganga mong madumi ng mighty bond. I annoyingly said.

Maloi : Sorry beh. Wag kana magalit, sayang yang kilay mo. She said with pouty eyes.

Stacey : Bala ka jan. I said while watching Colet play.

Maloi's phone rang loudly with her annoying alarm.

Stacey : Ang chaka naman ng alarm mo.

Maloi : Che! Dun kana sa far. She said before picking up her phone.

I watched Maloi slowly leave. I proceeded to wait for Jhoanna to be dismissed. I finished my ice cream and threw it away before sitting back on the bench.

I watched Colet score point after point. It was taking so long for my baby to finish. That was when Mikha approached me.

I sighed as I looked at her approach me. She was wearing a black hoodie. Then she sat beside me.

Mikha : Hi, Stacey! Kamusta! She smiled. That "innocent" fucking smile.

Stacey : I'm doing fine. Anong ginagawa mo dito? I asked.

Mikha : Honestly, I'm just strolling around. I was looking for someone.

Stacey : Is that so? I said coldly.

Mikha : Welp, mauuna na'ko. Nice seeing you. She said before walking away.

I glared at her as she walked away. But I couldn't help but find that jacket familiar. Then, a masked dropped from her pocket.

I froze as that masked dropped. I knew what that mask was. I began standing up and running away towards Jhoanna's building.

I ran and ran and ran, until I finally got there drenched in sweat. Everything was surreal, everything felt different now.

Everything kept spinning when I saw that mask fall from her pocket. That mask..

Then, Jhoanna came out of that door. I was so relieved that I hugged her tightly.

Jhoanna : Stacey? Calm down, bakit pawis na pawis ka? She said while I was catching my breath.

Stacey : Jhoanna.. kilala ko na kung sino si Anonymous.. I said while panting.

Jhoanna : Sino? She asked curiously.

Stacey : Si Mikha..

Si Mikha..

Jhoanna : A-Ano? Si Mikha Lim?! She stuttered.

MIKHA'S POV :

( AT THE CONCERT )

I saw Stacey collapse on stage, I quickly lifted her up to the ambulance and rushed her to the hospital. I waited hour after hour and then she finally woke up.
