Chapter 6

I was awoken by the alarm on my phone at 6:00 in the morning. Ugh why did this patient specifically need to see me? As the owner of my own physical therapy establishment I made sure that everyone that worked for me worked with the early birds because I wasn't one. I usually only took late morning patients which meant around 11 a.m. or so. Apparently this guy wanted the best and was willing to pay extra for it. Hell who am I to turn down extra cash? I rolled out of bed and went to go brush my teeth and hop in the shower.

After finishing my shower I looked in the mirror and decided to keep my hair plain and straight. Touching it up with the flat iron I walked out and rummaged through my suitcase to find one of my pants suits to put on today. It's time for me to move out and pronto I thought as I went through 4 suitcases to find each piece of clothing I needed. After gathering all my clothes I began to lotion up and get dressed. I didn't wear a lot of makeup so I kept it simple with a pair of false lashes and lip gloss.

"I made you some breakfast for on the go", Autumn said walking into my room.

"Breakfast burritos?", I said perking up.

"Yes hot mama, now come on you're going to be late", she said walking into my closet.

"What are you doing?", I said as I grabbed my purse and phone to head out.

"Girl I'm borrowing an outfit you apparently got some cute shit", she said rummaging through my suitcase.

"Good luck", I said as I walked out the room and grabbed my breakfast. I walked out the door and headed down to my car while stuffing my face with this burrito.

"Good morning red", I heard Brian say as I walked to my car.

"Good morning Brian", I said laughing as I got into my car and pulled off.

Pulling up to my building I walked into the building and was greeted by my assistant Erica.

"Hey Ms. Henderson someone dropped off some gifts for you and I put them on your desk, also wait til you get a load of who you stretching out today", she said smiling at me brightly raising her eyebrows.

"Gifts?", I asked as I laughed and headed to my office.

I unlocked the door and saw a book with a bow and beautiful red roses sitting on my desk. Erica is the only one I trusted with a key to my office. I walked over to the book and saw it was Kelvin's first published book. I smiled and mentally told myself to remember to thank Kelvin later on tonight. Sighing I sat my purse down on my desk and grabbed the file that Erica left on my desk.

"James Stevenson", I said out loud in shock.

"Yes yours truly", said someone to the side of me.

I looked up and it was him in the flesh. The basketball player for the Knicks is in my office asking for my assistance to get better. I stared in shock and then shook my head in disbelief. Ok get it together Naomi it's time to grind.

"Hello Mr. Stevenson let's get you started today", I said smiling brightly.

"Lead the way pretty lady", he said as he licked his lips.

Don't get me wrong he was fine as hell but I really don't need a man in my life right now. It's time to focus and get my grind on so I did my best to ignore his advances the entire time we worked on his therapy.

"We had a very productive day today Mr. Stevenson", I said smiling up at him. Damn he is tall.

"Yes I know I made the right decision to come see you", he said reaching down to give me a hug. I accepted it because I know I needed it.

"Bye", I said waving to him

He waved and winked at me as he headed out. I shook my head and was ready for my next patient.

"Ugh not ol dirty bastard", I said out loud shaking my head.

"Yes girl I brought you a red bull because I just saw his ass walk in the building", said Erica placing a sugar free red bull on my desk.

I hated working with Mr. Johnson because not only was he a pervert he was an asshole. The only reason I haven't kicked his ass to the curb is because he is a paying customer and I'm a woman that can handle whatever comes her way. Sighing I downed my red bull and headed out to meet him.

"Well well well look at what we have here", said Mr. Johnson as I walked out to greet him. I cringed on the inside because he smelled foul.

"Hello Mr. Johnson let's get you started today", I said not wasting any time.

He began the routine by taking off his shirt so that I could examine his back. He had a bad accident and fell down the stairs fracturing his spine. I turned my back and felt him walk up against me and press himself against my ass. Lord be with me today cause Ima hurt him.

"Mr. Johnson go lay on the table and make it the last time you violate me and my personal space again", I said in my most calm voice.

"Listen bitch I know you like it when you gonna stop acting like you don't?", he asked as he smacked my ass.

I turned around and looked at him like he had lost his damn mind.

"If you touch me again your back isn't going to be your only pain", I said clenching my teeth facing him.

"You know what, you just an upscale hoe, how much does it cost to have you for a night", he said now grabbing my breast.

I lost it and smacked the taste out of his mouth.

"Erica!", I yelled as she came rushing in.

"Girl I knew you was gonna lose patience one day I just wished I was here to see it", she said helping him up.

"Get out of my establishment and if I catch you anywhere near me I will press charges and or take care of you myself", I said shaking I was so angry.

One of the other male therapist came in and escorted him out as Erica came and comforted me. Tears fell from my eyes because of all the stress building up. My cheating ass boyfriend, my great grandmother passing away, my mom, finding a new place to live and now my job. I opened up to Erica and began to tell her everything that has been going on with me in the past couple weeks.

"I'm so sorry Naomi, you really need to go on vacation", she said shaking her head as she wiped my tears away.

"I can't just leave I have a job to do and..", I started to say.

"Stop you know I got you, I don't remember the last time you have even taken a vacation", she said rubbing my shoulders.

"I'll think about it", I said taking a deep breath.

"Listen go ahead and get out of here, your last patient for the day cancelled", she said getting up.

"Yeah I could really use some ice cream right now", I said laughing as I gathered my things up.

She blew a kiss at me as she walked out and closed my door behind me. I grabbed my things and the book that Kelvin got for me and headed out. Getting into my car I drove and decided to go to the marble slab next to my old apartment. As I pulled up I looked inside and saw Aaron with Kelly kissing her nose. He pulled her in close as they looked at their ice cream options. Tears filled up in my eyes as I watched him show his affection to her. Something he completely lacked with me. I inhaled sharply and pulled out of the parking lot and headed back to Autumn's place. I pulled up and ran up the stairs to her apartment before I could see Brian or Chuck. I walked in and showered cause my body felt so gross after being violated by Mr. Johnson. After showering I got in bed and cried my eyes out.

So much was going on with me and it was all too much. I heard my room door open as Autumn crawled into bed with me and held me while I cried. Some time while I was being comforted by her I decided to take that vacation.
