It's been two months—two painful months since Kassandra was placed in a medical induced coma and it has been the worst for everyone.
Normally the more time that someone is in a coma, the less hope there is that one is going to wake up but not for Victoria. Everyday that passed, she's had more and more hope.
Telling people that Kassandra is going to wake up, it's just a matter of time and she really does believe it. Kassandra will wake up and they will get engaged and plan their wedding and go back to work and get married.
Every firefighter and doctor they knew prayed to god that Kassandra would wake up so that that could happen but most of them was starting to lose hope. It wasn't until when the A team got of shift and came to the hospital when something happened.
Victoria was sat in the same place in the same chair holding the same hand as the first night Kassandra was in a coma.
The team were stationed around the room. Andy, Maya and Carina on the other side of Kassandra's bed, Travis on the same side as Victora with Dean, Jack and Sullivan at the foot of the bed.
No one wanted to leave, especially not when Victoria looked up at Kassandra with wide eyes when she felt her hand twitching in her own.
"What?" Travis asked, semi alarmed.
"Her hand twitched." Victora whispered, not taking her eyes off Kassandra.
Before anyone else could talk or register what Victoria had said, Kassandra squeezed Victoria's hand and managed to move her none injured foot.
"Is she seizing?" Jack asked, watching Kassandra's foot twitch.
Andy slapped the back of his head to shut him up as Travis got Bailey, Amelia and Link. Once the three doctors walked in, Kassandra started choking on the tube.
"Give us some space." Bailey called to the team as she took the tube out of Kassandra's throat.
Everyone on the team but Victoria, Maya and Andy left the room.
"Kassandra, if you can hear me, squeeze my fingers." Amelia said, placing two fingers in the palm of Kassandra's hand, smiling when she squeezed them.
Amelia did all the neuro checks as Bailey checked her vitals and other necessary things whilst Link waited for her to open her eyes so he could check her arm and leg.
