"That's a lot of risk, but it's still a lead." Nora commented in our room.
The room which I and Nora shared was cramped as we two were accompanied by six people. For the first time ever, I had used my status as a Jedi General's daughter and Jedi Padawan's friend to let them all enter the Temple.
"Who gave you this intel?" Echo asked.
"Autumn Goldeleaf. The general's daughter."
"How does she know this?" Tech questioned next. "I know she got it from her father, but even if he knew, why did he not take action on it?"
"I think it's a trap." Wrecker, for once, soberly said. "I know the General is nice and all, but we can't vouch for his daughter. And I know it's Omega at stake, but we can't lose anyone else right now. Hunter, Echo and Cross just got up from their injuries."
"I agree too." I answered. "While this is still a potential lead, there's too many unknown variables. That's why I decided to ask you all what to do next."
"Look," Emerie began. "Honestly, what do we have to lose? The worst that can happen is an ambush. We could lose this lead and play safe, in the hopes another lead comes to us, but if this lead is true, this means we go one step backward in finding Omega."
"Every second we waste, Omega might be going through horrors we might never know, inching farther away." Crosshair said. "We're capable of going through unknowns."
"Every danger is worth going through for her." Hunter quietly said, the first words he'd spoken ever since we began our conference. "I'm not going to sit back with the knowledge that we could have done something for her. I'm going to use this chance."
"So are we," Crosshair raised a hand. "Where you go, we go."
"I second." Tech and Echo said in unison.
"I was waiting for you to say this," Emerie smiled.
Wrecker jumped up and clapped his hands in glee. "Let's go get our sister."
"Then let's get planning. Tech, open the city map." Hunter clicked his fingers as we all scooted close to the glistening blue map.
"Did she by any chance tell you when did he last venture?" Echo looked up in my direction, and I shook my head.
Crosshair, all of a sudden, snorted for some reason. When we all turned to look at him, he shrugged. "It feels strange that now we all are going to spy on our chancellor."
We all snorted.
"We all are eight in total." Tech counted. "Two people will stay back here for any news. Two will stay on the route for any unwanted investigations. Another pair will stay outside the perimeters in case of an attack, and the other two will go inside to check out what's going on."
"I don't think we'll need that many people," I shook my hands. "Four should stay back here. In case someone comes to attack the house."
"Then three should be here, one on the route, two outside the perimeters and two inside to see what's going on." Tech amended his plan.
"Or," Hunter pointed, "we should have two on the road. If someone comes, one will not be enough for a distraction. One will go inside, and two outside the perimeter, and two on the road."
We all nodded, Tech slightly annoyed over his plan being changed again and again.
"Then let's divide our tasks." Emerie rubbed her hands.
We finally decided that Tech, I and Emerie will stay back at the house, Echo and Nora will patrol the roads, Crosshair and Wrecker will give guard duty and Hunter goes inside. I stayed at their house on Tech's orders so that in case we spot the Chancellor, I don't waste time by riding here.
