She never would have guessed this would happen.

Luz found a whole set of hair ornaments that she liked and wanted to wear.

Most were red or black admittedly.

"Woah"

She said looking through each one with admiration, while her corner student gleamed with victory. "I knew I'd get you eventually!" She beamed boastfully.

Though she still shook her head. "Yeah, you did, but I don't think these will look good on me," she said, leaning back in her chair.

Luz almost swore when she heard Eda say that.

"What?! No way you'd look so pretty," she argued, though it didn't make a difference.

"Thanks, but.. I'm not sure" she sighed, turning to Luz. "You got me, though; these are very pretty," she admitted bashfully.

A large smile stained Luz's face.   "If you like them, they're yours!" She beamed and handed the bag; she brought them into Eda.

A smile victory was all it took the brighten her day. It was enough that Eda liked them.

She couldn't help but be nervous, looking at herself in the mirror with all her insecurities strong-arming her to get undressed and stay home instead.

She wanted to look modest but still somewhat attractive.

A maroon long-sleeve dress designed to look like a sort of sweater. She put on black tights under it, and a black scarf.

Though her reflection might as well have broken the glass because she felt hideous.

She couldn't imagine Raine ever wanting something to do with her other than this date.

Dinner, they pretended to watch a movie until they decided it was time for her clothes to come off. But even though she'd hate herself in the morning and every single damn day after that, she knew she'd let them when it came time for it.

Eda sighed, then glanced at the bag Luz had given her just yesterday.

She decided that it was worth a shot to look as alluring as possible if it meant Raine might take her gently when the night was over.

She picked out a red hair ornament that was shaped like an orchid and put it in her hair.  "Maybe," she told herself. "Just maybe"

She thought before grabbing her purse, and apartment keys before leaving.

The drive was nerve-wracking; multiple times, she wished a car would swerve and crash right into her and take her out right then.

But she made it safely, only to stop once she got to their door.

Her hand was shaking, before she reluctantly knocked on the door softly.

She was not sure what she was expecting.

She already knows what kind of person they are.

She knows their mother and has experienced firsthand how kind they are.

Regardless she was petrified once they opened the door, expecting anything or everything that could break her with a second sentence.

She noticed they got taller, and how much more mature they looked from the shy musician she used to date.

"Eda, you look beautiful"  they gushed softly, reaching out for her.

Her waist, her hips, her hands, her hair.
