Laughing

Ferocious banging and loud shouting woke Alex, sitting up so fast he felt dizzy he moaned grabbing his spinning head. The loud noise soon became words belonging to Charlie.

"GET UP SLEEPY FACE, WE'VE GOT STUFF TO DO TODAY!" She shouted slapping her hands on the door. Alex watched it shake and wobble at each slap, wincing at the painful blows it was taking. How hard can she slap?

Alex groaned and lay back down putting the pillow over his head so he couldn't hear her, although it would be hard not to hear her on the moon. Suddenly the door threw open and a very awake and very lively Charlie walked in. Alex didn't bother to turn, he thought that if he stayed there she would think he was asleep and not bother him... He had never been so wrong.

With a swift motion Charlie launched herself on top of Alex, who yelped in surprised as his breath was forced out of him. Very slowly the pillow was removed to show a smiling Charlie, even in the morning after a late night she looked great: bright twinkling blue eyes, perfect blonde beach waves disappearing into the light of the sun shining from the window. Alex found himself staring.

"Come on Alex, get up we're going out," she said poking his cheek playfully whilst successfully taking him away from his thoughts.

"Thought you'd never ask," he said smirking as he strained his neck up bringing them closer. Charlie raised an eyebrow, moving her head back, away from him she scrunched up her nose. Oh I like this, no ones made me chase before, usually I'm the one being chased.

"Eh that's not what I meant. Besides I don't date boys who have drool all over their face." She said pointing at his cheek and giggling as his face turned to pure horror. Slipping out from under Charlie he ran out the door to the bathroom, rushing to the mirror he looked at his cheek to see nothing there. Charlie giggle standing behind him, standing on her tip toes she peered over his shoulder to look at his reflection.

"I was just kidding, you don't have drool on your face, but you are out of bed which means mission complete." She whispered in his ear, which made him... Nervous? She slid her hands over his shoulders and off of his back, her fingertips brushing his skin softly sending a shiver down his spin. "Get dressed, we have stuff to do, oh and I suggest things that can get wet." She continued as she left Alex staring after her.

Shaking form his momentary daze he returned to his room shutting the door behind him to get changed. Throwing three-quarter lengths and a tight fitting T-shirt, he ran down the stairs laughing at the memory of last night. At the bottom of the steps he jumped back as Robert rushed by him arms full of boxes.

"Oh sorry Alex couldn't see ya, and good morning!" He yelled heading out back. Both Charlie and Robert where running in all directions, in and out of the house with large boxes and expensive looking equipment. Running to catch up with a brisk walking Charlie, he stopped her turning her to take the large and presumably heavy box, from her slowly loosening grip.

"Thanks," she said moving so that he could take it.

"No problem, What is this all about?" He asked watching over the box as she dusted of her hands on her denim shorts she was wearing. Alex pried his eyes away from her legs to look at her face, thankfully she didn't see him. Good, I would of never heard the end of it.

"We're going out on the boat," she stated simply as she walked away, moving to the house again.

"What?"

"We're going out on the boat, are you deaf?" She asked smiling cheekily, quickly  he gave the box to the waiting Robert on the boat before running back to Charlie. She picked up the last box only for Alex to try and take it again.

"You know it's lovely that you're trying to be a gentleman, but I can take it," she said smiling at him. With that she continued laughing lightly as she walked to Robert with the box but just before she said, "It is kinda cute though."

"I don't have to try," Alex said earning a laugh from Charlie as she stepped gracefully on to the boat with help from Robert, Alex on the other hand stumbled on fall on his face. Charlie lugged helping him up by offering her hand.

"Why is it that when you attempt to flirt, you always fall on your face... This time quite literally." She said laughing, Robert laughing also as he started the boat.

"Better luck next time mate," he said before turning the key. Alex, annoyed at himself for being so clumsy, took Charlie's hand.

The boat was very expensive looking filled with various equipment such as laptops to fishing nets, plastic tubs where stacked on the shelves in the cabin along with a mini fridge and cooking equipment, it really was a beautiful boat.

Robert drove as Alex sat on the seat next to Charlie, watching the water as the boat glided across it. It glistened in the morning rays, each wave a flicker of light, the shore was empty, the morning quiet.

"Hey Alex, watch this," Charlie shouted over the sound of the water, she moved to the side and pulled back a sliding cupboard to reveal a large stereo. Flipping the switch Imagine Dragons began to play, turning the volume up she began to dance, her father laughing and smiling too. Alex laughed and watched Charlie as she danced, Only he didn't look at her like he would of when watching a girl in the club, he looked at her and smiled. She wasn't just something to please his eye she was too innocent, too beautiful for that. Watching her was like watching passion and beauty itself. Stopping she looked at him a perfect smile across her face, she was walking towards him hands out motioning him to join her. He waved her off but she wasn't taking no for an answer, pulling him up she moved his arms until he got into it, and then they where dancing and laughing. That's all I seem to be doing here, laughing. With that he smiled continuing the dance with Charlie.
