Jungkook's gaze pierced through Louisa's soul as his hands cradled her face, his thumbs tracing the contours of her cheeks. "I rejected you, Louisa, not just because of the societal differences that stand between us," he began, his voice low and husky.

"But also because I knew you were destined for a life with Edward, a union that would elevate your status and secure your future." Jungkook's eyes searched hers, seeking understanding.

"I thought Edward was the perfect match for you," Jungkook continued, his words spilling out in a heartfelt confession.

"A renowned head of the military, respected and admired by all, with a status that would shield you from harm and provide you with the life you deserved." Jungkook's voice cracked.

"I convinced myself that he would treat you with kindness, adore you, and cherish you, and that I should let you go, hoping that with time, I would forget about you and you would find happiness with him."

Jungkook's eyes locked onto Louisa's, his gaze burning with intensity. "But I was wrong." he whispered, his voice laced with anger and protectiveness.

"I saw how Edward treated you, I saw the way he looked at you, the way he spoke to you, the way he touched you." Jungkook's jaw clenched.

"And I knew I couldn't let you go, not to him, not to anyone who wouldn't love you the way you deserve." Louisa's eyes widened in shock, her face pale.

She was stunned, unable to comprehend how Jungkook had discovered Edward's true intentions. She had never confided in anyone, never revealed her doubts and fears about her betrothed. Yet, Jungkook seemed to know, to understand the depth of her unease. "How did you know?" Louisa's voice barely rose above a whisper.

Jungkook's eyes softened, his face inches from hers. "I've always watched over you, Louisa, from afar," he confessed. "I've seen the way Edward's eyes linger on you, the way his touch makes you recoil." Jungkook's voice trembled.

"And I knew I couldn't stand idly by while you slipped into a life that would suffocate your spirit." Louisa's heart pounded.

Jungkook's voice trembled with restrained anger as he recounted the fateful night, his words painting a vivid picture of the events that had transpired. "I saw you both at the ballroom party, Louisa," he began, his eyes flashing with a mix of emotions.

"I followed you to the balcony, unaware of Edward's disgusting intentions, thinking perhaps you needed assistance or merely desired some fresh air." Jungkook's jaw clenched, his teeth gritted in frustration.

"But what I witnessed there will forever be etched in my memory, a constant reminder of my failure to protect you." Jungkook's voice cracked.

"I saw how Edward behaved with you, how he spoke to you with such disrespect, how he touched you with an audacity that made my blood boil." Jungkook's words spilled out.

Louisa's eyes widened in shock, her face pale, as if the very memory of that night had drained the color from her cheeks. She had thought she was alone that night, that no one had witnessed the horror she endured.

But Jungkook had seen it all, his presence a secret, his gaze a silent observer to the travesty that had unfolded.

"How did you...?" Louisa's voice trailed off, her question hanging in the air like an unfinished thought.

Jungkook's gaze locked onto hers, his eyes burning with intensity. "I was there and followed you all the time, Louisa," he confessed.

"I saw everything, every moment, every gesture, every word." Jungkook's words hung in the air.
