Chapter -1

In the office cabin,

"Don't teach me what to do or what not to do. I've said what I've said, and I don't want to argue about it," Bright's dad said angrily.

"But Dad, I don't want to get married yet, and especially not to someone I don't even know. Don't you think you're being unfair to me?" Bright stood up for himself.

"I'm doing all this for our betterment. It's just a marriage, and he's a capable, intelligent guy from a good family. I hope you'll adjust to him with time," his dad replied.

Bright's dad placed his hands on his shoulders and looked into his eyes for a moment before storming out of the room. Bright couldn't tolerate his anger; he picked up the files from the table and slammed them to the floor.

"What nonsense is this? Why should I marry some unknown guy?" Bright clenched his fists, feeling like he wanted to punch someone.

But he knew he couldn't do anything because his dad always got his way, even over his own objections.

Bright's dad's POV

I know I'm wrong in forcing my son, but it's not entirely wrong either. Our company needs a new CEO, and for Bright to become one, he must get married; otherwise, our company will face many questions. I don't want that.

That's why I fixed Bright's marriage. I know it's against his wishes, but have you seen the guy I've chosen for him?

At Win's room

Win's mom said, "I know you won't refuse, will you, Win?"

Win seemed lost in thought, but then suddenly snapped back to reality. "Yeah, sorry Mom."

"Did you hear what I said?" she asked.

Win nodded thoughtfully. "Hmm..."

His mom continued, "Win, I know this is happening suddenly, but he's your dad's very good friend, and he also helped us a lot. I couldn't say no to him."

Win remained silent, then looked at his mom and smiled faintly. "Mom, don't worry, I'm ready for this marriage."

His mom tearfully hugged him. "Oh, my dear son, I knew you wouldn't disappoint me. Thank you, my love, thank you so much."

She kissed his forehead. "Go take a bath and then Come downstairs for dinner" and left his room.

Win was bewildered, feeling like he was watching a TV serial. Someone he had never seen before was entering his life, and on the other hand, there was his mom's happiness.

But somehow he pushed these thoughts aside and headed to the washroom to freshen up.

When the warm shower water hit his face in the washroom, Win thought, "Will he be happy with this marriage? And is he also being forced into it?... Ahhh, why is all this so difficult?"

Feeling tense, Win asked himself these questions and then somehow composed himself, stepped out from the washroom, got dressed, and headed downstairs for dinner.

He didn't want to think about all this anymore, nor did he want to discuss it with his mom and trouble her further. So, he decided to go with the flow.

"Dear God 'i trust you" he told himself and began to eat.

Meanwhile, Bright was fuming, unable to understand what was happening. And Win, on the other hand, didn't want to understand a thing.

Bright's Pov

Bright couldn't understand what his dad had just said, so he grabbed his car keys and stormed home in anger. "Good evening, Bright—"

He didn't even glance at the maid, slammed the car door shut, and went to his room.

He entered his room, slamming the door as hard as he could, and tossed his car keys onto the bed. "Has Dad gone mad? Ahhh!"

He clenched his fists and began pacing around the room in anger. "This is all nonsense! This... this whole world is nonsense, and don't even ask about its people!"

He told himself, then suddenly collapsed onto his bed.

Though he was generally rude, arrogant, and cold, but deep down, he had a soft spot that was perhaps too small to be noticed until now.

He gazed at the wall beside his bed, and tears welled up in his eyes. He closed them, and darkness engulfed him.
