Nathan

I wake up slowly with Sabrina laying naked on top of my side, her soft breasts pressing against me.

I grin down at her while brushing her soft hair.

She smells so good, like fresh flowers and honey.

After a moment, I slowly slide her off of me while trying not to wake her. I climb out of bed and admire the beauty before me.

She rests peacefully on her stomach, away in a deep slumber.

I smirk when I catch the heart-shaped tattoo on her left ass cheek.

She would.

Grabbing my sweatpants from the floor, I slide them on and head for the kitchen.

I start the coffee machine and prepare two coffee mugs.

Suddenly, my phone rings from the counter. I answer it to hear Wilson's voice.

"You were right. Bryan isn't our guy. We just checked out his alibi and confirmed he wasn't there at the time of the murder." He explains. "Especially since the Shadow Killer already struck again while we had him held. He's definitely being set up."

I sigh. "Fuck. I'd hate to say 'I told you so,' but I really wish it was him. That means he's still out there."

Sabrina walks out of the bedroom, wearing my black t-shirt from last night. It hangs off of her body down to her mid-thighs. The collar exposes her perfect collar bones and her hair is a mess. A beautiful mess.

I smile at her silently while setting the mug under the machine. The aroma of fresh coffee fills the air as it brews slowly into the mug.

"So what's our plan now?" I ask.

"Well, fortunately, we do have another lead. Bad news is he has a victim in hostage currently." He sighs. "A missing person report was filed last night. She was last seen on Shirley's street at ten pm."

"His favorite spot." I utter quietly.

I suddenly feel Sabrina's small arms wrap around my bare torso, her hands placing on my chest. With my free hand, I hold the back of her hand in mine.

"Exactly. We need to move quickly before it's too late. Get to the station as soon as you can." He says before he ends the line.

I turn to face Sabrina.

"What was that about?" She asks softly.

"Nothing." I reassure. Changing the subject, I hand her the brewed coffee and say, "Coffee is done."

She takes the mug with both hands and grins up at me.

Pausing for a moment, I say, "I think you should take the day off and stay here, just to be safe." I cup her face with both hands.

Her eyes staring into mine, she doesn't speak a word.

"Just to be safe." I add and release her. "I'll have Michael over in a bit to watch over you." I walk towards my bedroom to grab my shirt.

She slowly follows behind. "What? Where are you going? Who's Michael?"

Sliding my shirt over my head, I then pull my jacket out from the closet. "He's the guy that watched over you last time. You'll be safe with him, I promise. There's no one else I'd trust than him." I slide on my sneakers one foot at a time. "I'll be back, I just have to meet up with an old friend."

She pauses and lowers her eyes down to the coffee.

"Stay here. Michael should be over soon." I give her a quick kiss before turning away. I stop myself and turn back to face her again.
