Nathan
I open my eyes hazily as my head throbs. There's a stinging pain in my neck as well.
Scanning the room, I realize I'm in some shady motel room, tied to a chair with my hands behind my back. Then my heart almost stops when I spot Sabrina, passed out while tied to the bed. She wears only her white bra and panty set and her mouth is gagged.
"Sabrina," I softly groan, still waking up from whatever drug I was given.
Keith steps into the room. "Don't try anything sneaky or she'll be gone for good."
I frown at him. "Don't you dare fucking lay a finger on her." I snarl while squirming from the restraints.
He walks over to her slowly and brushes a strand of hair from her face, causing me to tug against the restraints as I watch.
"My bad, let me rephrase." He says while admiring her. "I won't kill her, don't worry. You have to realize I'm very fond of this woman myself." His eyes meet mine before returning his gaze back to her. "She's beautiful, isn't she? Quite stubborn, for sure, but finally, I have her all to myself, with you out of the way."
I don't understand how he found us. I was so careful. How did he find us here? What did I do wrong?
"How did you find us?" I ask, glaring into his eyes.
He smirks at me. "You're not as sneaky as you think. And let's just say, a little birdy told me."
What does he mean by that? Who told him? No one else knew I was here except . . .
No.
My eyes widen at the thought.
"There you go, pretty boy." He creeps toward me. "Now you're finally using that brain of yours."
"Wilson . ." My eyes meet his as I am too stunned to speak.
But, why? I thought he was on my side. I don't understand.
"I couldn't have done it without him, of course. He was whispering in my ear since day one. Of course, you were the one I thought I shot when I kidnapped that girl, but it had to be your damn partner." He scoffs.
Lopez.
Wait, the kidnapping? That was the Shadow Killer.
He's the Shadow Killer!
"You're the Shadow Killer." I softly say aloud.
"Took you long enough. And you just kept getting in the way, getting so close to stopping me. And always getting in the way of Sabrina and I." He turns to her. "But now, I have her to myself. And you're going to watch as I indulge myself in her. Then, I'm going to finally kill you for good." He cups the side of her face and trails his hand down her body.
My blood boils with fire as I clench my jaw. "Don't you dare fucking touch her!" I shout.
His eyes peak over at mine. "Too late, Grayson. It's over. She's mine now." He climbs onto the bed, straddling her body.
"No!" I shout while wrestling the restraints, by body still weak from the drugs.
Suddenly, his phone rings. He groans as he retrieves his phone from his pocket. "Ah, speaking of the devil, that's him now." He gestures toward his phone. He climbs off the bed and walks toward the door as he answers, "Yes, father." The door shuts behind him.
Father?
Wilson is his father? Well, it all makes sense now. Why he kept me off Keith's case, why he almost had me killed, and why we kept being mislead from the Shadow Killer. It all makes sense now. It was all under my nose. I should've known.
