Chapter 54: The Berlin Style

As the two were still hugging each other Berlin pulled out a needle and injected Palermo quickly in the back. Palermo feeling a small sharp pain in his back. "I'm sorry, but this is for the best."

And now Palermo was knocked out on Berlins shoulder.

"Oh shit... I guess we're going with the Berlin style of how to fix a situation, injecting his best friend. Great." Seoul said.

''What the fuck? No, no Berlin, what the fuck are you doing?'' Denver came out of nowhere, looking shocked. ''Have you gotten crazy or what?''

''Denver, all I'm doing is my job and it's for the best to put my best friend to sleep. He just needs his beauty sleep that's all.'' Berlin responded. ''Now, can you be a sweetheart and grab a chair and the chains?''

''What the hell are you going to do with chains?'' Denver looked more confused then ever. ''Can we talk about this with everyone?'' He asked.

''Sure, after Nairobi's surgery, don't you think that's a better idea? Now please, I will not ask you again can you please grab a chair and chains?''

''Motherfucker...'' Denver muttered and walked over to Seoul. ''Please, do something about this Berlin has gone crazy.''

''What can I do, Denver? I'm sure Berlin has his reasons of why he injected Palermo.'' She crossed her arms.

''I dont even know. So much happened that I can't even think straight...'' Denver said.

Now the gang had put Nairobi in an office, so now everyone was in the office, standing, wondering why everyone is here.

"You guys might be wondering why, we're all here together right now, but probably you from all the gossip you guys might've heard that Palermo got injected by me. Yes, by his best friend I know, but calm down his downstairs in the lobby sleeping, sitting in a chair chained." Berlin explained.

''Woah, woah, woah. Are you crazy?'' Tokyo stepped a foot closer to Berlin.

''Could be.'' Berlin said simply, looking at her.

''You can't just make decisions for everyone like that. It's the second time you've injected someone in this gang. Rio remember?'' Tokyo brought up a moment that had happened during the last heist in the Mint.

''Do you guys want to vote again like last time? And what Tokyo, are you going to play Russian Roulette with me in the restroom?'' Berlin said sarcastically.

"Seriously, Berlin? You think injecting him is going to fix anything? You just made everything worse! We almost lost Nairobi and we've actually lost Lisbon and now and this is what you do after?''

''What if Palermo doesn't forgive you? What if he turns against us?'' Rio started asking questions, his head was filled with them.

''Oh, he already has. You know he was about to leave and give up, but it's fine I'll talk to him once he wakes up. He might be fussy at the start but he's going to be fine. I can handle him.'' Berlin explained.

''He has a point. Berlin and I have known Palermo longer then you guys. So stop fucking around.'' Bogotá said.

"We can't let this tear us apart. We need to focus on the heist, not on infighting. We have a protocol.'' Helsinki said.

Seoul turned to the three who clearly disagreed with Berlin and lashed out. "Tokyo, Denver and Rio, you three are clearly not listening or trying to understand why he did it. Berlin did what he had to do."

Then Seoul rolled her eyes. "If you want to survive this, you need to trust his judgment. Do you really think it's easy for him? Even though he makes it seem like it is? He's making the hard calls, and you're just whining about it for fucks sake."

Her sassy and bossy demeanor would likely challenge the group to step up and focus on the mission instead of squabbling, making it clear that she stands firmly by Berlin's side. How do you think the others would react to her attitude?

Helsinki could see Tokyo was going to talk back to Seoul, so he tried to calm everyone down. Because he knew if Tokyo started talking back more drama would come. "Look, everyone has a point. We're all feeling the pressure. Instead of fighting, we need to focus on the task at hand and support each other. We're just wasting time by arguing about this."

Stockholm nodded, as she agreed with Seoul's sassiness and bossiness. "Honestly, if we want to get through this, we need to listen to Berlin. He knows at stake."

Helsinki added more to the conversation. "Berlin made a tough call, but we need to work together if we want to pull this off. Let's not let this divide us." His calm and collected nature armed to unify the group amidst the chaos.

Stockholm kept nodding. "I'm tired of all this bickering. We need to stay focused and trust each other. Otherwise, we're just going to end up in a mess.

She thought her perspective would help reinforce the idea that teamwork is crucial, especially in high-pressure situations.

As everyone had finally settled down and went back to work and did their thing. Berlin looked at his watch, he knew Palermo is probably awake by now. He decided to go downstairs to check up on him and talk to him.

While Berlin was walking downstairs to the lobby, suddenly every hostage got quiet and stopped talking, as they got scared of Berlin. Then Berlin went over to Palermo, standing right in front of him."How are you feeling, Palermo?"

Palermo just stared at him. "I feel betrayed. I feel manipulated, che." He said simply.

"I can't let you jeopardise everything. You need to stay out until we finish this." Berlin said, he tried to assert control over the situation, emphasising the importance of their mission.

"Berlin, you don't understand," Palermo shot back, his voice laced with anger. "You think this is about the mission? It's about trust! You've crossed a line.

Berlin narrowed his eyes, his expression hardening. "Trust? You think I wanted to do this? This is survival, Palermo. You're not thinking straight."

Palermo clenched his fists, frustration boiling over. "Survival? Or control? You're willing to sacrifice me for your vision, and that's not the man I thought I knew."

Berlin stepped closer, his voice dropping to a low, intense whisper. "You will thank me later. Right now, it's about the bigger picture.
