"To what do I owe your visit." The man asks as he flips through a bunch of documents, paying no attention to his lover who stood before him. 

She looked at him and noticed how he never even looked back at her. She knew their relationship was falling apart at this point.

"You should have clocked out thirty minutes ago." he says once again.

"We need to talk. Keep those papers aside and look at me. Give me fifteen minutes of your important time my darling." she says as she slams onto the table, getting all of his attention.

His teal eyes looked up to noticed the tear eyed woman who stood before him. It left an uneasy feeling in his chest which made it difficult for him to breath.

"Certainly." he says as he casts aside the documents and gets up from his seat to hear her out. 

She looks away before looking into his eyes in disappointment. It was no longer contained those affectionate hues in them. It wasn't the same shinning brilliant eyes that she had seen during her days in university when they had just started dating. 

"You are a knowledgeable person and I think you have already noticed the state of our affairs." She says in a low tone. "It's miserable. It's bugging me. It hurts a lot." 

The man before her gulped nervously as it the atmosphere was choking. He knew this day wasn't far away yet,  deep in him he was relieved to know it was finally this day. 

"You are equally knowledgeable as me, (y/n). You of all people should know how time consuming and tedious this job is." The man said in a slightly distressed tone yet he tried to keep his cool. 

"That's enough!" (Y/n) screamed out loud. "That's enough...don't regard me as knowledgeable as you...I'm not. We cannot do this anymore, this isn't working out at all !"she says out in a distressed tone, taking a step back. 

The man was hurt looking at her. He has failed his lover yet he knows what is happening right now, is for the best.

"Then what should—" he was interrupted. 

The words he thought he would have been the most prepared for had hit him. It hurt more than he had calculated.

"Let's break up." she says as she looks into him, with a broken look in her eyes. He stayed still as he didn't utter a word or even breath for a minute. 

"Let's break up....let's annul the engagement." (y/n) says as she wipes the tears from her eyes. 

The man took a heavy breath in before he exhaled out with a sigh and replied, "Then." 

"so be it. Let's break up. " he says with a straight face, not showing any emotions despite how hurt he felt. 

"This is it. This will be our ending, (y/n). Thank you." He says as he walks past her and leaves the room, leaving her all alone.

She fell down to the nearby chair and started sobbing as she tried covering her mouth.
