Hampshire is a county located in South East England. It is bordered by Berkshire to the north, Surrey and West Sussex to the east. It is a coastal county set next to the English Channel. With 36 beaches, Hampshire finds itself a perfect spot for those who enjoy a blend of city, coast, and country.

Many of the locals often find themselves enjoying the beautiful coastal views that can be found at these beaches. That includes a certain dark haired boy who sat on the dock situated above the sand, feat dangling beneath him, watching the waves crash against the support beams.

For 11 year old Riley Davies, the beach is a second home. Growing up in a house only a few blocks from the Ocean, he spent almost half his life watching the coastline. His imagination often soared, carried away by the salty breeze. He watched seagulls dance effortlessly in the sky, envy mingling with admiration in his young heart.

Hands dug into the warm sand, feeling its grainy texture slip through his fingers. With each handful, he built castles in his mind, envisioning a kingdom that only he ruled. His imagination knew no bounds as he added moats, drawbridges, and towering walls, all made from the golden sand beneath him.

His gaze shifted towards a group of children building sandcastles nearby, their laughter echoing along the shore. He felt a sense of camaraderie, a shared joy in the simple pleasures of beach life. Perhaps, he thought, they too had kingdoms to rule and dreams to chase.

More often than not, he finds himself wondering if the other children around him felt the same ways he did. Though he doubted it. There was always something that seemed to set him apart from everyone else in Hampshire.

The first incident that his parents told him about occurred when he was only 5 years old. Riley and his family took a visit to the park. Where he had been playing football with the other neighbourhood children when the ball was kicked too hard. It ended up rolling into the street with Riley not too far behind. Not seeing the car coming towards him he ran into the street.

There was a shout of alarm from his parents, before the car slammed into him. Instantly, the park erupted into chaos. Absolutely distraught, his mother and father ran to where they had seen the car hit him.

But, what they found wasn't his mangled body, in fact he was completely fine. Standing in the middle of the road holding the saved football.

At the time the reason given was Riley's small stature allowed enough room for the car to pass over him. Despite the unlikelihood it was the most realistic explanation for the incident.

Of course his parents would soon learn that what happened that day wasn't some miraculous coincidence. There was something else at play, something supernatural.

Because after the accident with the car Riley's Mother and Father started noticing strange things about him. How he seemed to appear out of nowhere or could somehow reach the cookies in the cookie jar on the top shelf.

After a while they had no choice but to accept Riley was special, how and why though, they still don't know.

Now, Riley himself is aware of his own, supposed, super powers. It is no longer just accidental, after a while of practising he can control certain aspects of his abilities.

If one were to look into the window of his bedroom they would find him levitating his books towards himself or floating his clothes into his laundry basket.

His Mother and Father both accepted this strangeness as a part of who he is, however their reactions to him performing his abilities in front of them were quite different. His mother has always been interested in the supernatural, the house full of fantasy and sci fi books. So she likes to be around to watch when Riley finds new abilities.
