"Let's play 21..but with a little twist! How about it?" Maeve says a bit excitedly at Blaine, who's still feeling nervous.

"Y-yes..wait, a little twist? What are you getting it?", the guy with his hand still stuck to the table with a knife between his fingers questions Maeve. He knows the rule to 21, he's a gambler. But is he good at it?

Blaine has so much confidence because he always goes to casinos to play card games like poker to win thousands of dollars in one night. He wouldn't expect this night to go in such disarray just because he met this one girl.

"Hold up. Do I even have a say In This? You have a GODDAMN KNIFE IN BETWEEN MY FINGERS!", Blaine starts to actually use his head and see the position he's in right now. If he disagrees with this girl, he could possibly lose a finger or 2 or even more.

Maeve chuckles a bit.

"Looks like you're catching on. Bravo. With this knife in between your fingers, do you have a say in this? Mmm-No! So you listen to me! Haha~". Maeve chuckles a bit more knowing that Blaine knows the predicament he's in. She isn't actually going to use the knife, even if he said no, that would've been fine. She would have resorted to another plan. But since he's playing along now, her main plan is still taking action. It always has.

"We're gonna play 21..but someone else is going to make the rules and create a special version of the game for us to play. This den has some...'special dealers' that we can use for special gambles like this one."

The gambling den that they're gambling in is a special den. If the circumstances are right, special dealers or a more sophisticated title.."Referees" will attend to the bets. These Referees will attend to the bets but will be the one to choose the games that are played to avoid any cheating of any of the participating players. It would be suspicious for one of the players to propose a game to a referee, since it would also suspect that the player already knows how to play the proposed game. The Referees have one rule they follow, and that is to stay neutral.

Someone has been spectating the bet from the shadows. 'Shadows' as in the corner of the den, but them standing against the wall puts a shade of darkness over them that vales this sense of mystery. You wouldn't know who this was unless you got up close and personal with them or if they simply stepped out of the darkness. Blaine had no reason to pay attention to whoever it was since in his position, he'd have to turn around to look at them. Maeve on the under hand, could see this unknown person's silhouette since she's across the table from Blaine and can see what's behind him. But she has a feeling on who that can be and she knows just the way on how to reveal them.

"Wait! What're you doing?!?", Blaine yells out. No matter how much he tries to, he can't seem to pull away his arm from Maeve's grasp.

"This'll only hurt a bit!".

Maeve lifts the hand she's holding her knife with and brings it down to stab Blaine's hand.

But before that can happen, a sharp females voice, other than Maeve can be heard.

"Violence isn't allowed in this den".

Maeve's hand is abruptly stopped by a third party. Their hand gripped Maeve firmly without any chance of letting go, quickly making her drop the knife. They moved so quickly that they were already in Maeve's sight and she still didn't see them moving in-front of her. It happened in a blink of an eye, they moved so fast across the room. The table shook from how fast they had stomped by and even Blaine was taken aback by his savior. Who was..
