ᴀꜱ ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴇxᴘᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ, Min's letter saying if she was accepted into Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Student had come a week after Ace's acceptance letter. That day was also the first time Ace had been invited to Min's house. Her parents weren't home, and she was too scared to read the letter by herself.

At her house, Min couldn't even open the envelope. Ace had to be the one to open it. After he read it over, she asked, "Is it bad? I didn't get accepted, did I?"

He worried if he made a face that made her think that. "You need to stop doubting your skills, Min. You got accepted."

She stole the letter from him and read it herself. For a few seconds, she didn't say anything. Ace was going to ask if she could finally take a break from her books when he saw the tears coming down from behind her bangs.

Ace never know how to comfort others, much less Min, whom he had never seen cry before. He ended up awkwardly putting an arm around her shoulders in a half-hug. She turned it into a full hug, clinging onto him as if he was the one thing keeping her standing. He never knew she had such a strong grip.

In an attempt to sound comforting, he said, "You did it, Min. You don't have to study anymore, right? You worked hard enough. You can rest now."

Min didn't reply. Even now, Ace couldn't imagine what it was like to be her right then, to have all the efforts she put into this finally pay off. She did it, though, and even though he didn't know how to put it into words, he was proud of her.

It was then their futures were cemented. There was no going back then.
