Ashlyn's POV;
"I guess I better get ready since we should be there by 10 am" I put on some gray cargo pants a green hoodie and a black shirt underneath then I put on my shoes and waved bye to my parents before heading out the door as I walked down the street to the park I was startled by Aiden creeping up behind me "jeez you really know how to greet people" "Yeah, I do!" he gave me a tight hug and I said, "Let go we are gonna be late.." "Okay fine fine" As we walked Aiden was yapping like the usual "You surely do talk a lot!" "Oh look they are already here!" Aiden said
Third person POV;
"Oh hey, guys!" Taylor said sweetly Ben and Logan waved with a smile "Took you guys long enough" Tyler said in an annoyed tone "Ignore it always has something to say" Aiden replied "It??" Tyler questioned "Guys let's not start this again," Taylor said as they were thinking of what to do now that they were at the park Aiden ran to the playground while the others were busy talking "Why is Aiden in the playground without us?" Logan asked "Hold on.." Tyler wiped his eyes to ensure what he was seeing then burst out laughing "That's a baby swing dumb*ss!" "Wait what!" Ashlyn turned to see Aiden stuck in a baby swing struggling to get out she tried to hide her laugh in then everyone started laughing "Come on stop being mean guys help the poor man out" Ben texted "says the one who was snapping photos of him in a baby swing" everyone walked over to Aiden who was stuck in a baby swing everyone tried their best to get him out and after some hard work they eventually got him out "gosh that was exhausting.." Taylor said "if I see you in another baby swing again then know you're so dead." Ashlyn said out of breath "I'll try" Aiden smirked they played in the park for a few minutes "I'm hungry you guys wanna go get a snack?" Ashlyn asked "Yeah there's a corner store right down the block!" Taylor replied "I'm kinda feeling a snack too so I'll tag along" Aiden replied
the group headed down the block to the corner store "We're here," Ashlyn said the group walked down the aisles to find anything to snack on "I'll grab a bag of chips and an energy drink" "why an energy drink?" Taylor asked curiously "I'm kinda drained from getting Aiden out of his baby swing" "Haha well I'll go see what's in the next aisle," Taylor said heading down the next aisle as Ashlyn was just about to reach for an energy drink she heard Aiden "Ashy! whatcha lookin' at?" (why does he have to startle me every time.?) Ashlyn stared at him as thoughts encountered in her head she hadn't realized how long she'd been staring at the man "You done staring.?" He asked looking uneased and awkwardly laughed Ashlyn quickly snapped back "Oh- sorry.!" She grabbed the energy drink she was getting but Aiden leaned a bit closer to examine the drink "Energy drink? Seems cool I'll get one too!-" Before Aiden finished his sentence Ashlyn said "No no no you don't need any more energy than you already have!-" Ashlyn said "Okay finee. you got everything?" Aiden asked "Yeah" Ashlyn replied then Aiden dragged Ashlyn's hand and brought her to the checkout where everyone was waiting "She's here guys!" Aiden said, "I'll go pay for my snacks real quick!" "That's my job!" He ran to the cashier "Your total comes to 47.56 sir," the cashier said "Alrighty!" He said as the card reader scanned his Apple Pay "Rich kids.." Tyler said, "Expected." Ben typed "Have a nice day!" The cashier said "Here guys!" Aiden handed the bags to the group "You know you didn't have to pay for all of us right?" Logan said "I owe you guys for getting myself stuck in a baby swing" Aiden smiled "Fair enough," Ashlyn said "We still have some time left It's about 3 pm right now what do you guys wanna do?" Taylor asked as the group headed out of the corner store "There's an arcade down the street wanna go spend some time there?" Logan pointed to an arcade not far from the corner store as they walked to the arcade it started getting colder than it was "It's getting pretty cold let's hurry," Logan said "We're here" Everyone's eyes explored the arcade but a DDR machine seemed to grab Ashlyn's attention Aiden noticed her staring at the DDR machine and asked her
Ashlyn's POV;
I've never played the machine version. I wonder if it's more difficult? My thoughts left me when I heard a voice "I bet I can beat you." I slightly blushed and smiled
"...how much?" I think Aiden smiled too and was he blushing? No, I'm probably overthinking it.. the others also wanted to tag along in DDR which I didn't mind we spent all our time at the arcade playing DDR, shooting basketball hoops, playing air hockey, and other games. It was about 10 pm
Third person POV;
"well guys it's pretty late and I think it's time to start heading home since the cycle starts at 12," Logan said Ashlyn agreed with him "Yeah, I need to get some rest before the phantom realm" "I just need to make a stop real quick," Logan said "won't your parents be mad? It's already 10 pm" Taylor asked "Yeah but I'll be home soon, I'm sure they won't mind" Logan replied "Do you mind if I come with you?" Tyler said "Are you sure? like Taylor said it's late your mom would be upset since we agreed to be back by 10 pm" Logan said "I mean it's just something quick right?" Tyler replied "You could try and do it tomorrow whatever you were gonna do today" Aiden suggested "I can't exactly do it tomorrow" Logan replied "If it's just something quick, I'm sure you guys will be fine," Ashlyn said, "alright we'll be on our way then!" Tyler said "See you then" Ashlyn said she waved to Logan and Tyler as they headed to the exit door Taylor and Aiden said "Bye" and Ben waved goodbye to the two Tyler and Logan also waved goodbye back to the group and left "I wonder what those two are up to," Taylor said curiously "I guess we'll start heading home also," Ashlyn said Aiden tapped Ashlyn on the shoulder "Um- Ashlyn do you mind if I stay at your place for today?" Ashlyn had told Aiden the day before that she couldn't have him over since her parents didn't allow guests in their house when they weren't home "He got in an argument with his parents and, he doesn't wanna see them right now. can you please let him over at your place for tonight?" Ben texted she knew the relationship between Aiden and his parents was pretty bad but her parents were currently visiting someone out of town and knew she'd be in quite the trouble if they found out Aiden came over but her guts were willing to take the risk she looked at Ben's message on her phone and said: "Alright.. sure.." "Really?? Wow, thanks Ashy!" Aiden was surprised that she'd let him stay over today he got pretty excited and hugged Ashlyn's waist without hesitation Ashlyn slightly blushed at Aiden being so excited knowing yes it was a problem. "Ashy.?" she said flustered by the cute/weird nickname she was given and trying to get Aiden off he wasn't letting go "Let me go.!" Aiden looked up at her and smiled at her goofily which made her blush because it wasn't the usual psychopath smile it looked pretty cute for the first time "Alright lovebirds let's start heading home now!" Taylor chuckled and Ben smiled at the two "Oh I almost forgot for some reason Logan gave me this at school yesterday since, he couldn't find you. he told me to not open it and, give it to you instead." Taylor handed Ben a letter "Oh, thanks!" While Ben was opening up the letter wondering why Logan had written him a letter. His smile slowly faded while reading Logan's letter. Ashlyn and Aiden thought they saw something in him shift and were about to say something but just thought they were imagining things after an exhausting day Taylor noticed his face and decided she'd ask him what happened later Aiden grabbed Ashlyn's headphones and ran out the door while shouting "Catch me if you can!" "Aiden!!" Ashlyn shouted "Sorry guys be safe I gotta catch Aiden," Ashlyn said and ran out the arcade to find Aiden "This man.." Taylor noticed Ben was zoned out. "Ben.?" Taylor said she kept repeating herself until she stood in front of him "Hello???" He broke his zone out to see Taylor "You good with walking home?" Ben honestly didn't really wanna see Aiden's parents at home but he thought of Lily he didn't wanna leave her alone in their argument Taylor definitely noticed something was going on "You've been acting a bit weird ever since I gave you that paper but can I stay over at your place?" She asked Lily liked Taylor and he didn't have any problems with it since it would distract the both of them "Yeah sure, can you just let your brother know?" Ben texted Taylor and quickly sent a message to her brother telling him she'd be staying over at the Clark's house "done!" She smiled and held Ben's hand catching him off guard but he headed out of the arcade with her as if butterflies weren't fluttering in his stomach.
