Bella's POVOver the next few days, I settled into life at the Burrow, growing closer to each member of George's family. Fred and I quickly became friends, his sense of humor making it impossible not to laugh. He had a knack for making everyone around him feel at ease, and I could see why George loved him so much. Ginny, too, became a fast friend, sharing stories about Hogwarts and the magical world, filling me in on all the things George hadn't yet told me.
As George and I walked through the nearby woods one morning, he held my hand, pointing out little details along the way-flowers he'd picked for his mum as a child, a stream where he and Fred had fished for tadpoles. There was a softness in his gaze, a contentment that mirrored my own, and as we walked, I felt a growing certainty that this was where I belonged.
That evening, George surprised me with a small picnic in the garden, complete with a blanket, lanterns, and a few of Molly's homemade treats. We sat together, sharing stories, laughing, and letting the evening unfold around us like a warm embrace. The stars sparkled overhead, and as I looked at George, I felt a surge of love so strong, it took my breath away.
"Bella," he murmured, reaching for my hand. "I've never felt this way about anyone before. You're... you're everything I didn't know I needed."
I smiled, my heart swelling. "I feel the same way. Being here with you, meeting your family-it's more than I could have ever dreamed."
He leaned in, his lips brushing mine in a soft, tender kiss that left me feeling light, as if I could float right up to the stars. We stayed like that, wrapped in each other's arms, our love growing with every whispered word, every gentle touch.
The following morning, Molly took me aside, her expression warm and kind. "You've made quite an impression on George," she said, her eyes twinkling. "He's always been a dreamer, but I've never seen him this happy. You're good for him, Bella. And I want you to know that you're welcome here, always."
Her words filled me with a quiet joy, and as the days went on, I found myself settling into this new life, a life I hadn't known was possible. The Weasleys became my second family, and with George by my side, I felt like I'd finally found a place where I could truly be myself.
As my time at the Burrow drew to a close, George and I talked about what would come next. We wanted to keep building our life together, finding ways to merge our worlds and create something lasting. We made plans for him to visit Forks again soon, to spend time with Charlie and let him see just how happy I was.
In those final days at the Burrow, we carved our initials into the trunk of a tree by the garden, a small mark of our love, a promise of everything we were building together. And as I boarded the plane back to Forks, my heart full and my mind buzzing with plans for the future, I knew that this was only the beginning of our story.
With George, I felt complete, ready to face whatever lay ahead, and as I looked out at the clouds below, I whispered a silent thank you for the love I had found, the family I had gained, and the life we were creating together, one moment at a time.
