The soft light of the early morning streamed through the trees, casting a warm glow over the meadow where I stood, my heart racing with anticipation. The officiant, a local friend of Charlie's, pronounced us husband and wife, and as George leaned in to kiss me, I felt a surge of warmth, of certainty, of love so deep it was almost overwhelming.
