A knight of the sun, a knight of utmost honor, Solaire awoke to utmost darkness, or, to be exact...
The darkness of the cave nation of Dwargon.
He had thought himself cast into the abyss of Manus, but, much to his relief, he had his helmet wrongly adjusted.
Now, he finds himself conversing with dwarves, dwarves that seemed incredibly interested in his weaponry.
-"A..as I was saying friends, I just woke u-"
Interrupted counter: One.
-"Such intricate design! What is this metal..?"
They grasped at his sword, as if they wanted to rip away his precious, causing him to involuntarily push them back.
But like flies they didn't flinch and just swarmed again..
-"Let me talk-"
Interrupted counter: Two.
Once repelled, twice attacked..
-"The craftsmanship is immaculate! It casts such pure light! Did you see how it flickered slightly as he waved it? Do it again!"
-"By the name of.. Such powerful and hardy materials!"
Solaire was not very easy to anger, but, in this moment, he felt slight irritation...
So, he made his voice known in the room.
-"Alright, I've had quite enough of this.. Inspection.. will you let me talk to someone who represents your kind, THEN, I'll let you examine my equipment.
Does that sound acceptable?"The dwarves looked at each other, nodding and whispering, before parting a way for him, one of them taking it upon themselves to lead him to their leader.
Now, said leader, Gazel Dwargo.. Wasn't exactly the freest and least busy man ever, but.. This is a matter of breakthrough in craftsmanship and forgery! There's no way he'd turn it away, right?
-"Denied. Entry is not permitted as of the moment due to arrangements for visitors."
Ah.. Well.. Solaire will have to let them inspect him head to toe.. He's a man of honor after all..
-"I suppose.. I must now honor the agreement.."
He sighed and surrendered to the swarm of absolutely crazed blacksmiths, but how was he in for important surprises.
As they settled into a certain one of the blacksmiths' shop, they began assessing his equipment, weapon first, every second awed them more.
The weapon, having served Solaire for maybe decades now, seemed to have obtained.. A binding service.
It's literally impossible for anyone else to use it except him.
If anyone tries to use it except him, they will be physically incapable of moving the handle.
Hell, even reverse grip is impossible to move!
-"What a loyal blade... Truly a knight's dream is to have a weapon of such fealty..."
Solaire smiled underneath his helmet at these words, a warm memory flooding his mind of the countless battles it had endured ever since he swore his life to the sun.
-"Ahh this sword shone through any darkness, even one as swallowing as the Abyss."
The way he worded "The Abyss" had the dwarves slightly confused, which made Solaire remember the fact that he might be in an entirely different era where everything's forgotten, or in a separate reality.
"Apologies, it's just a rush of nostalgia that came over me, continue your appraisals if you wish."
The dwarves nodded and moved to his helmet.. which would not leave his head no matter what.
It could be moved in place, but something was not allowing it to even move off.
"Seems my own helmet shares my sword's loyalty.. Almost as if my equipment is a hivemind of its own."
Well, that was the case to him anyways.
The inspection carried on for a few hours, as promised to them, it was from his helmet, to his vest, to his leggings, none of his equipment even budged a tiny bit.
They took note of the material, lead him to an inn and had him paid for his stay, and told him to return tomorrow.
Settling into his bed, he felt like an adventurer of sorts, it was kind of exciting, but the hollowness of his heart from missing the brightness of the sun hit him like bricks.
-"Dearest sun, I will climb up this mountain of purgatory for you, and I will bask in your glory once more.
My eternal praise will continue once more."He held his hands out, not in his repeated praise stance, but with clasped prayer hands, as if begging for a breakthrough.
Despite his cheerful personality, Solaire always had troubles on his mind, troubles in his past.
On who was truly his creator.
Legends had it after his disappearance in Lordran that he was a descendant of the Lord of the Sun himself, Gwyn, but, no one could figure it out.
