Alexo was back to full strength.
His body was straining from the energy and power pulsing through his soul.
His eyes no longer looked faded or empty.
He stood off to the side, watching as hundreds and hundreds of Laconian men were dressed in full armor. Training with each other like they were on opposite sides of a war.
Full contact fighting with swords and shields and spears. Striking as hard as they could, drawing blood and coating the ground. The brown and black dirt was now completely red.
Stained by years of violent abuse and training.
Molding perfect specimens of warriors that were closer to machines than people. Mindlessly listening to orders and not much else.
Alexo watched on, his arms crossed tightly.
King Lelex made his way over to stand next to him. He was adorned in golden and red clothing that showed off most of his torso and arms. Just red fabric diagonally across his chest and stomach. Golden gauntlets and shin guards while sandals covered his feet. He crossed his own arms, his muscles bulging and nearly the size of Alexo's.
"You do not look impressed." Lelex said.
Alexo was silet.
Lelex could not help but chuckle.
"You are quite the interesting man. You either say no words at all, or all of them. It is quite interesting." Lelex said.
"And you seem quite well spoken for a Laconian." Alexo said with a cold and uncaring tone in his voice.
He did not even care to look at Lelex. His eyesight stared forward to watch the soldiers.
"I simply became the first King of this city in order to raise men to be dangerous and deadly warriors in order to protect our home. Protect the entire land from outside invaders and raiders." Lelex said, sounding proud and powerful.
Alexo tried to hide the disgust on his face.
"I have a feeling that you do not like me." Lelex said.
"I have issues with the Gods..." Alexo stopped himself, thinking back to everything he had learned about them, yet still did not understand.
"And the children that they bring into this world." Alexo finished.
Lelex shrugged.
"I understand your anger." He said.
Alexo was caught off guard, but tried not to show it.
"Many others like me...I guess including me in a way...think that they are superior. Better than others just because of their parents. I do not see myself as above my fellow man or woman. I see myself as one of them. I am King not because I should be, but because I worked for it. I earned it. It was not given to me for my status. I simply wish to lead and help those who choose to follow my leadership." Lelex said.
Alexo became more open and less tense. His arms uncrossed as he sighed.
"I am cursed, and I see it as nothing else. I am the Son of Hades...or Zeus. It has become difficult to figure out. But since I found out, I have been struggling with it. I do not know who I am, and I have been forced to suffer and experience hardship my entire life." Alexo said.
"Hardship and suffering is just living. Life isn't easy, nor should it be. You have clearly been shaped by your life, perhaps the path you chose to take based off your circumstances. You should not be ashamed of your legacy." Lelex said.
