Alexo was sleeping inside of his bed, which was reinforced with shields and swords underneath the wooden frame to keep it from breaking. He head eaten enough food to be back to full strength, his muscles all packed and large.
As he laid on the bed, his body began to shake.
He began to whimper.
Sweat began to push through his pores while his face twitched.
Alexo was shaking more and more, his entire bed shaking along with him as the wood began to strain. Even the metal was bending and clearly on the verge of snapping.
Alexo could hear screams being silenced. The sounds of blood splattering and bodies hitting the ground.
More and more cries and shouts. Adults and children alike. Being wiped out.
Able to see the faces of innocent people being killed in his arms. Their bodies ripped apart by monsters and men.
Alexo suddenly shot up in his bed, panting hard with his eyes almost popping out of his head. He ran his hands aggressively through his hair, feeling like he was on fire.
His muscles are all aching and hurting.
He looked around, unable to see much of anything in the darkness.
Somebody entered the building, moving a large curtain and allowing sunlight to shine in with a golden light.
"Ah, you're awake. How are you feeling Alexo?"
Lelex said, bringing over a small iron cauldron filled with water. He placed it next to Alexo, standing over the large and muscular man.
"Where am I?" Alexo asked.
"You are in my home. In Laconia." Lelex replied.
Alexo sighed, lifting up the entire cauldron and tipping it to drink quickly.
Lelex watched, his arms crossing.
He was dressed in armor, a helmet reflecting the sunlight sitting on the ground.
Alexo finished all of the water, turning to see the helmet shooting rays of light all over the walls and ceiling."Why are you dressed for war?" Alexo asked.
"Our scouts informed us that soldiers are making their way here. We are preparing to defend ourself from violence. I would not normally ask an outsider or a stranger to fight my battles for me, but I will simply offer you a chance to fight. If you refuse, I will not be insulted." Lelex said.
Alexo sat in silence for a few seconds.
"I must repay your hospitality and kindness. I will fight alongside you this once, and then I will be back on my own to travel the land." Alexo replied.
Lelex smirked, holding his arm down towards the larger man.
Alexo took it, being helped to his feet and shaking his sore limbs around."I don't know if we have armor big enough to fit you. Hope you're fine with that." Lelex said.
"As long as you give me a sword, I will be fine." Alexo replied.
Lelex laughed, turning to stare at the door of golden light.
"A sword you shall get. Now, let us go and fight with the Gods watching down and giving us strength." Lelex said, walking over and grabbing his helmet from the floor.
Alexo hid his annoyance, leaving the building.
The sunlight blinding him too much to see anything, his eyes needing to adjust before seeing hundreds of men all adorned in cheap and poorly maintained armor. Swords, spears, and shields all looking like they were a punch away from breaking into dust.
